I just started in Nov and passed BEC. Having been in the bubble I found out when I walked into work on Friday. I have only 9 people in my workplace and everyone knew I had been studying for over 1 month so they were all asking about it going back to the 9th of Dec.

Anyway, they were all thrilled and I got a “way to go” all day Friday. This week people are being extra nice and I am not being given a normal work load. They are telling me to relax. Sometime before X-mas we are supposed to go out to lunch at a fancy place on the company’s dime. All this for one section.

Maybe I can get a new sports car from them when I finish the whole thing. j/k

I won't say that kind of treatment is rare, but you should feel fortunate. I've seen countless threads on here from candidates (justifiably) expecting some kind of recognition after passing their FINAL section only to have managers belittle the accomplishment by insinuating the process is much easier now.

Getting that kind of treatment after your first section is awesome.

I experienced a change, but it was internal… My attitude changed. I realized that I was working in a place that did not really seem to value CPAs. My motivation and productivity are down, and I have started thinking about finding a new job.

I seen this before. Ladies and gentlemen. Remember after passing the exams or parts and you start to grt noticed by the cute male or female coworkers doesn't necessarily mean they're actually into you. They're just after your CPA study materials.

@skynet lol isn't that the truth. I had a lot of professors whining that the test used to be hard. I bet most of them wouldn't even be able to take the test now and pass, plus I would rather have paper and pencil, no harder testlets.
