I have seen so many posts regarding rewriting your notes, doing thousands of MCQ’s, etc…. but nothing really that addresses flashcards and I am contemplating whether or not to buy the BECKER flashcards for my next exam… anyone use them? Recommendations?

    Thank you~

I have the Ninja flashcards but I haven't used them like I should. If I did my 74 might have been a 75. I'm going to use them more for AUD. It's very convenient having them everywhere on a phone.

    REG - 78
    BEC - 74, 67, 69, 69, 70, 79
    FAR - 76
    AUD - 69, 69, 69, 74, 85

I also have the NINJA flashcards for AUD & BEC, and didn't use them once.

I used them off and on for all my parts. My last exam (AUD) I went through the NINJA flashcards after rewriting the notes and listening to audio but before MCQ. Felt they helped a lot!

I used Becker Flashcards for my last FAR exam and I think they contributed to me increasing my score. I used them in my review process once I had already been through the whole book. I just carried a chapter at a time and went through them whenever I had a spare minute. I think it really reinforced the things I had forgotten from earlier chapters, its like having the book with you all the time.

I used the flashcard more actively.

Reading a book & note is great, but doing MCQ type of flashcard is more engaging way to learn.

A lot of people focus on doing ‘tons' of MCQ, but all my passing tests I did not use test bank software.

I focused a lot on flashcards & doing AICPA released questions.

It helped with preparationg time for studing as well, each topic generally took 2~4 weeks to prepare from scratch.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

I used the NINJA flashcards for BEC and REG.. they worked really well. For FAR and AUD, I didn't use them because I didn't have time anymore. Wishing I did. I would do 30-minute sessions of doing nothing but that in the backyard 🙂 I think it all boils down to, if it helps you remember stuff than reading/going over notes, then it'll work for you.

My “winning” formula was Becker lectures, Becker PassMaster MCQ, and Becker Flash Cards. No reading or note taking…so whatever works for you, go for it!

    AUD - 51, 80
    REG - 84
    FAR - 15, 29, 55, 80
    BEC - 65, 72, 69, 76 (expired), 83

For those that have used the Becker flashcards, did you use their flashcard app or get the hard copy ones? I hear the flashcard app has some issues with freezing, cards not flipping when you tap the screen, etc..

I've used the Becker flashcards (hard copies) for all three of my sections so far because I got them for free. They've been somewhat helpful during my final review but I don't think I would have done much worse without them. Personally, I don't think they're worth the $300 if you have to pay for them.

    AUD - 11/30/12 - 89
    REG - 1/17/13 - 89
    FAR - 5/28/13 - 87
    BEC - 7/18/13 - 89

    Done!

thank you to everyone who answered. I am still not 100% sure whether or not to implement them in my new study plan— unless I can get them on the cheap… then maybe… otherwise creating my own would probably be a good alternative.

    thank you~

I have the flashcards and don't use them.

I like writing my own, so that I can write them in a way that “clicks” to me.

    REG [75] 02.27.13(1)
    AUD [82] 04.15.13(1)
    BEC [79] 05.29.13(1)
    FAR [62] 08.26.13(1) [76] 02.24.14(2) - God is able!!! 🙂

Have over 500 flashcards so far. Wrote or typed them up myself. I use them not as often as I would ideally prefer but still these cards are always near by and travel with me everywhere. A lot of important acronyms or concepts are in those cards although I use spiral notebook for writing down repeatedly missed MCQ and correct reasoning. That notebook is priceless to me!

Love the Becker flashcard app myself. It goes section by section, allows you to mark if you've “mastered” a card, and see the percentage that you've mastered. Not critical, but helpful to fit in some quick studying while on your phone instead of checking Facebook.

    REG: 84
    BEC: 90
    AUD: 94
