Crunch time…what is your day before and day of exam study ritual

Do you review notes, rewrite notes, brush up on weak topics?

Do you crank out MC and simulations non stop?

Whats everyone’s experience of having an exam in the afternoon? Do you study in the morning and call it quits the night before and go in clear headed (as best you can) to the exam

Afternoon exams usually. Study til about 10 the night before … get a good night sleep, wake up at 7, then head to breakfast, then to library. Then I do some “light review” … skimming over topics I may be weaker on. Nothing too harsh, as I don't want to kill brain cells. Then I head out about 2 hours before the exam, to clear my head and drive to prometric. Sit in my car for about 30 minutes, and then go in and see if I can sit a little early.

Then I take the exam, leave the exam, and head to the nearest bar. STAT.

    B: 71, 73, 79
    A: 83
    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.

I study all day the day before my exam with MCQs, sims, rewriting notes; whatever it takes to get those last few weak spots sorted out in a last ditch run. Then around 7 or 8pm, I do the practice exam at the end of the Wiley textbook and correct it. On the morning of exam day, I do some light studying just to keep things fresh for an hour or two. I grab brunch at my favorite spot and head into my exam afterwards, getting to the test center about an hour before my test time (just to be safe).

    REG - 85
    AUD - 99
    FAR - 89 - w/ NINJA Audio and Blitz
    BEC - 91

Using Wiley - books and test bank - 6 months - all 4 first time

Day before and day of, I don't study at all. I relax, go do something that has zero to do with work/school/studying. Clears my head, and feel relaxed going into exam. I know there's empirical evidence that's pro of cramming and last minute review, but its not for me.

When I took BEC I studied the day before doing MCQs and flashcards. My test was at 12:30 on a Saturday. Saturday morning I reviewed my notes and went over flashcards with formulas several times before I went to the exam. I didn't do any MCQs the day of the exam. I was so burnt out when I took AUD because it was only 2 weeks after BEC that I didn't do much the day before or the day of the exam. I made sure to get a full night sleep before each exam and I didn't set an alarm to get up on Saturday, but nerves had me up at 6:00 each day anyways. For BEC I felt it was important to look at anything that required memorization before I walked into the exam.

The day before I touch all topics by doing multiple 20 MCQ's per section. After about 2 hours, I can identify my weak topics and hit them hard until well known. Then, I read all my notes. In total, the day before is a 4-6 hour study day.

The morning of the exam, I do some MCQ's just like the day before for about 2 hours, and review my weak topics for about an hour. I take about an hour to eat something healthy, potty break, and get to the test center 30 minutes early.

    CPA EXAM: DONE!!!!
    Ethics Course: Passed
    Application Mailed: 3/16/15
    Professional Conduct Exam: 97
    Certification Date: 4/2/15!!!

The days leading up to my exam are crazy. I pound out MCQs and notes until I want throw my laptop into the woods and pull 8-10 hour study marathons! The day before I still hit hard until dinner time and that's when I call the clock on study time. At that point I have a nice dinner, relax, and get some rest. I test at noon or 1pm, so I wake up at my normal “go to work” time and do light MCQS and review and drink coffee but I will stop if it makes me nervous.

Avoid doing anything that will impact your confidence and get to prometric super early! The experience is stressful enough without freaking out about a traffic jam, accident, etc. that would cause a delay. I get to my prometric an hour early (yes, I'm crazy) however they've always been cool about taking me right away.

After the exam I go straight home, open a bottle of wine, and start drinking ASAP!!!

My day of the exam is filled with mostly loud music and 5 Hour Energy.

I find that I maintain my composure better if I really psyche myself up beforehand. Helps with the early test jitters.

nice, lots of different opinions in here.

For AUD, i studied hard but cut off pretty early the night before. I then woke up and reviewed ninja notes and did some practice questions. I remember reading the notes before going into Prometric.

BEC the last time, i didn't stress myself too much before taking the exam. I did look over things.

REG was just a flat out mess, I somehow screwed up on my study theory for that exam.

Back to cramming for FAR tomorrow….last minute realization that my NTS was expiring gave me 3 evenings and a day of cramming for FAR, it's a long shot but I'm hoping for a miracle
