Did anybody every say if cram courses were a good idea or should I use my ninja products for my cram.

I am having trouble with retaining (maybe just panicking). I plan on taking far the between the 28th and the 31st and I find myself going over the entire video again to make sure I know what I know. A total time waster, so I am trying NOT to go over the entire video again, but move on. what to do? I am willing to ditch the video’s at this point and just go at mcq’s, but it has been discouraging to get most of them wrong. So…..what next? My stomach is in a knot….literally.

The one time I have used a cram course so far is when I failed FAR the first time back in November. I bought the cram course (I used Yaeger) and took about 6-7 weeks to restudy. I liked it A LOT and it helped me get 12 extra points to get that pass. It really condenses everything and keeps it fresh in your mind just before exam day. If you are willing to spend the extra money, I would say go for it.

I am using yeager now for Far, and I like it, but I can't seem to move on. I guess I am not secure in what I know.

Well Maybe I am not using the materials correctly. I am watching the videos, and taking notes. then I go to the homework, then I go to the next video. At night I go to the ninja notes and audio and start listening and writing. I write the notes from the section I am viewing. I have not done many mcq's though. Any help will help…..

Stop watching the videos & start doing MCQ's. Those will help you more than anything

    @tncincy,

I feel exactly the same way. I'm retaking FAR and using Becker Final Review this time. I'm getting discouraged with MCQs, but they're necessary if you get in the mindset. I try to write down a note for each one I get wrong to review later.

Redoing all the Becker videos is tedious and I tend to tune out. I'd do a quick review of the text instead and take notes. Less time consuming and probably more effective.

Well, I am going to focus on mcq's. I am willing to do what ever I need to do to be ready. I am determined to pass FAR.

Bump for a few Yaeger cram questions!

    1. What comes with the cram, besides the video lectures?

    2. Yaeger cram mentions needing the Wiley text book, which I'm currently using, how do they incorporate it? I also have the Wiley test bank, is this incorporated in the cram too?

    3. I'm testing for BEC on the 31st…is it too late? They mention 11 hours…I certainly have 11 hours until the 31st! 😉

    4. I've never used Yaeger products…any thoughts on website, presenters, etc. that are make or break for the cram products?

    Thanks!!!!!!!! 🙂

Mints – I loved Cindy who teaches BEC for Yaeger. I have not seen the cram though.

I used Yaeger Cram for AUD and FAR.

Basically, it's the Yaeger course but they don't walk you through many examples. It's a good once over of all major concepts in a section.

They teach directly from the Wiley text, will have you follow along, and assign homework.

You can incorporate test bank separately (and should!) Yaeger doesn't assign enough homework to get you through.

TNCINCY- I took 6 weeks to go through the cram for my FAR retake.

The way I utilized the Cram lecture for FAR because it's such a beast:

I got out my notes from the last time I studied, watched the videos and just added to my old notes.

Once I finished a section I would do Wiley practice sessions (15-30 mcq at a time). Then move on.

After I got through all sections of video. I rewrote the sections of notes I was weak in.

Then I took a practice exam.

Starting with my weakest section I would review notes, rewrite concepts and practice, practice, practice.

I think it's important to note, that whenever I work questions I take notes in my “Fact Nugget” book (per Jeff's suggestion).

I note anything I got wrong, guessed on, or didn't quite understand.

My fact nuggets never leave my side. Just reading one sentence here or there throughout the day that summarizes a concept is soooo helpful. Also listened to Ninja Audio any time I was in the car and read ninja notes at night.

Oh, and then practice some more. I worked questions until I literally hated my computer and wanted to throw it out the window.

For AUDIT, because it was shorter, I just started the Cram from video 1 and studied like I had never seen this stuff before. It worked. 🙂 that also took about 6 weeks, including Christmas vacation.

Thanks MCLKT!!! It always makes me feel better to hear a good review from someone you know! 🙂 I'm thinking of purchasing it tonight and using it to cover the last 3 Wiley modules I have left and then circling back for the weaker topics I covered on my own as time permits. Worst case scenario is that I don't pass on 5/31 and retest on 7/1 and take the month to fully utilize the Yaeger materials…which really wouldn't be the end of the world all things considered! I feel like I'm taking a gamble on this short of a soak for BEC, but I've been hitting it hard and I'm willing to roll the dice on this one!

    Thanks again! 🙂

Update: I picked up Yaeger Cram yesterday morning and had my activation link by lunch! I watched both videos for Financial Management (each one a little over an hour) when I got home from work and took notes along with Cindy out of the Wiley text…I LOVED IT!!!! Cindy is my new best friend! I liked her examples, pace, and it really helped the information click much faster than a cold read on my own. I'm going at these videos Ninja style, so I will watch module 45 tonight and take note and knock out the last two tomorrow. Then I'm going to do all associated MCQS on these four modules. I've covered half the modules on my own already, so after I do all the MCQS for modules 44-47 I will go back and watch the videos as time permits. I'm taking tomorrow off so I can spend the WHOLE day on cost accounting…doesn't that sound like fun? 😉

As an added bonus, I now have a perfect and logical reason why I need these 😉 : https://www.beatsbydre.com/headphones/beats-solohd-white/900-00012-01,default,pd.html
