I’ve used Wiley and CPA Excel this time for my studies. I’ve exhausted both databases and am able to get 85+ on any set of questions I get. I tried looking around today and found cpareviewforfree. I am missing a lot of questions, and it really seems like they’re so far off the wall and nothing like what has been covered in CPAExcel or on previous exams. Has anyone used this before to study, or should I just forget I ever found it and continue to do what I am doing? 2 days to go, need all the good study time I can get !!

CPA Review for Free is run by Joe Hoyle. Google him….pretty much the founder of CPA review in general.

I used his materials with Wiley and Ninja Audio/Notes. Very good resuource!

It has good MCQ's and they are free. Some of the questions are out of box but overall it doesnt hurt. Also they give reasoning on answer if you answer them correctly/incorrectly.

Sometimes when I have free time I solve some MCQ's on CPAFreeReview like a quick 15-20 mcq's.

But if you have exams in day or two dont do anything new because sometimes it can affect your confidence and you really want to be very motivated 🙂

    Good Luck

Hmm, I'd be worried it wasn't up to date. I'm sure doing so would take more time and effort than is justified for a free site.

It is the ONLY resource I used for FAR. Granted my score wasn't exceptional but it was enough for me to pass my first try. Wouldn't recommend using it as a stand alone (I was naïve) but it does have its merit.

I spent one day doing the free MCQ on CPA review for free for BEC and panicked because they were soooo different than Becker and WTB and just seemed off the wall. They also seemed structured (worded) a little differently. I left them alone and stuck with WTB for final review those last few days before my exam…

After taking BEC, I wish I hadn't wasted that day on CPA Review for Free. I'm not exactly sure what exam those MCQ's are preparing you for lol.

That site was helpful to me for BEC.

@so1913 that's funny because I felt the exact same way about cpareviewforfree for BEC. It's true they have questions there that are nowhere to be found in Becker/Wiley materials and had to go searching the internet on how to solve their questions. But overall I think it helped me with my test 🙂

@Mia see it's funny, we thought the same thing about the actual questions, but you felt it helped you and I felt it was a waste! LOL, just goes to show you never know…everyone gets something different out of each review source…

Guess it doesn't hurt to go through them if you have the time, I think Becker and WTB questions adequetly cover the types of thing you will see pop up on the exam.

Are you guys actually getting access to any material for free? That's one of the resources that I tried to use when I first started, but if I remember right, it looked like you had to pay for everything…and I don't necessarily object to paying, but I do when it's advertised as free! 😛 I'm wondering, though, if I missed something, since your comments here look like it truly is free.

I used Cpareviewforfree and think it helped a good bit (also use Yaeger, Wiley and Ninja products)….yes, some of the problems are a bit different but I think this is a good thing..I believe it helps having many different perspectives…at least for me it helps to understand all the different ways a question can be asked…I can't speak for BEC but for AUD and FAR some of the questions were identical to Wiley which means they are prior test questions. With that being said I would review the questions you got incorrect first then if you have time do the Cpareviewforfree stuff..there are hundreds of questions for each section that are free…they also have a set of 10 sims which are very helpful for $10.

Thanks for the responses! I think i'm going to leave it and concentrate on Wiley/CPAE. With 2 days to go I don't want to start questioning how much I know and there's definitely some improvement to be had on Wiley and CPA Excel, and learning that COBIT and COSO model is something I need to spend time on (I just seem to forget both of these immediately after reading lol !)

Thanks again and good luck to anyone taking exams or receiving results this window!

@TopHarry123 I heard the cpareviewforfree questions are harder…at this point I would focus on covering your weak areas and get some rest…you have worked very hard….!

I used cpareviewforfree for a little bit, some of the simpler questions were nice, but some of the other ones are brutal. They were too wordy and too far off from real test questions. With your scores already, just continue what you have been doing.
