HEy ninja so I have passed 3 exams. I am on my last one and find it almost unbearable to study. I find any and every excuse not to study. I took a week off after last exam. It is soooooo hard to get back in the swing. I need to because my final exam BEC is in 3 weeks. I still have 200 pages to cover in CPAexcel. Anybody else have this problem? and how did you overcome?

    HELP

My burnt out phase came after passing FAR. I was studying 6+ hours a day, every day, for FAR. So by the time I was done with the exam, I was so burnt out I could hardly stomach studying or lectures. I think that's the reason I did so poorly on AUD compared to the others (it's still a passing score so I'm not complaining).

Once I saw that I passed AUD, it got me motiviated to finish the whole thing up. I changed up my study habits for BEC and I'm using similar habits for REG. The goal is to finish strong and put the whole thing behnd me once and for all.

I definitely burned out after AUD because I had no life while studying for BEC & AUD. I studied on the van pool, at work, before Wednesday bible class, every weekend. Studying consumed my life. I took a break before REG and thought it would be the section I struggled least with, but I was so wrong (see my signature), it's the only section I've struggled with!

Now that I have 3 sections passed, I'm so tired of studying, but I'm so ready for this to be over. I am tired of studying, but I'm motivated to keep going because I know (eventually) I'll pass REG and this journey will be over.

I look forward to reading for leisure and not having the nagging feeling I should be studying while I'm living life.

Alicia, that feeling that you should be studying persists even after the exam is over, unfortunately…

    FAR- 82
    REG- 93
    AUD- 89
    BEC- 88

You are smarter, more focused, and more brilliant than you give yourself credit for. Believe in yourself and truly know in your heart that you can do it.

I felt the last test was the easiest to study for, because I was so excited to be done.

    BEC 87 Feb 14
    REG 84 Apr 14
    FAR 82 Nov 14
    AUD 86 Feb 15

BEC is my last section, and I take it a week from today. I don't mind studying for this one because I was a finance major, and the material is more interesting to me (except the IT part … could not possibly care less about IT), but yeah … I've been studying in earnest since last August, and I'm ready to move on with my life.

@ Casey..i take BEC next week too, its my last too, everyone said BEC is easy…i disagree..its been the hardest to study for?

Are you using Becker? have you tried their practice exams, the second one makes me feel like Im not ready..but i also suck at variances and i will not be doing anything about that either…i know the basics

Yes, using Becker. I have not taken the practice exams yet. I've just been doing progress tests. I will get to the practice exams next week, but I've read a lot of comments about the second practice exam being really difficult. Someone in the BEC Exam Experience thread reported that they felt it was harder than the actual exam. Consensus on that thread seemed to be that Becker prepares you well for BEC if you actually study and do the assignments.

Im so in the same place! I took four parts in six months and now I have one left to go – the beast – FAR and I just CANNOT GET MOTIVATED. My exam is May 29th.

Everyone gets burned out studying for the last one. My last one was also BEC, but I don't think it matters which. I took little breaks and had trouble focusing. Still passed it first try, you just have to work harder to stay motivated and remind yourself you're in the home stretch.

    AUD: 83
    FAR: 77
    REG: 86
    BEC: 86

I'm on my last section and thought I would share a couple of tips that have helped me. The first is visualizing the two alternatives. When I pass and I can relax, take a break, read a couple of books I actually want to read, and not stay up late and get up early to study. If I fail then I will have to keep covering the same material until the next testing window. With less than three weeks to go I'm motivated to have some freedom.

I have also started to get back into my running routine. Enjoying spring by getting out in the sun during daylight hours has greatly helped my mental state. I'm taking 7 weeks to study for BEC, which has given me a little free time. I elected to take BEC on April 20th so I get more study time, and spend less time waiting on the score. Good Luck!

    BEC - 87
    AUD - 74, 92
    REG - 82
    FAR - 65, 85

I so needed to read this! I'm extremely tired and just the thought of studying FAR (again) makes me want to vomit. I no longer have the stamina I did with the other exams. I can see the finish line, yet I don't know why I can't make myself study. I do 10-20 MCQ's and I'm done – mentally and physically exhausted. I have my exam schedule for April 20th but I'm going to res-schedule. I promised myself a cruise to the Bahama's after I pass… still not motivated lol. I know I'll kick into gear soon but until then I'm procrastination city!

Good luck to everyone on their journey. This CPA is definitely a life changer. 🙂

    BEC - 66, 77 (3/14* expired), 82 (11/15)
    AUD - 58 (4/14), 76 (8/14)
    REG - 75 (6/14)
    FAR - 72 (11/14), 67 (1/15), 68 (5/15), 68 (7/15), 80!!!! (11/15)

I'm exhausted too. Started studying Sep 2013! I'm finally at the finish line, so I'm praying that “senioritis” doesn't set in.

Just want this to be over. Scheduled my last exam the Friday before my one year anniversary. I will NOT postpone that exam date and I am looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend with my wife. Hopefully it's a celebratory weekend of not only our first year of marriage but also of my last section of this miserable exam.
