I am currently working on fulfilling my requirements to take the CPA Exam. I have one more upper level accounting course to take this summer and have almost completed my 1-year experience requirement (June). I am researching my options for studying this fall for the CPA Exam, with goal of taking it Winter/Spring 2014. I really do not want to go deeper into debt with the highly recommended Becker courses, and found the Another71 site through the AICPA website. At this point, I think my best bet is to study on my own through more affordable resources, like NINJA.

    Any suggestions/comments welcome!!!

    Thank you!

Congrats on hitting the final stretch in being able to sit…now the hard part actually starts! I would definitely recommend NINJA study materials as they have been great in beating down the main topics. I used them on AUD as a supplement to Becker and Becker alone for all others. I believe Jeff will agree that most people use NINJA to supplement a review course, not solely as their review course. This is not saying it is not possible to pass with just NINJA, but from my personal experience Becker goes much, much more in depth…like knowing the exception to the exception.

You will have differing opinions on Becker vs Wiley vs Yeager and that is more personal preference. As you noted, Becker is definitely not cheap, but neither is taking the exam time and time again. You need to decide what is best for you and go with it. If you can afford Becker, maybe look at a cheaper option. Jeff has a no drama return policy on his NINJA materials so you can always give it a test run…im pretty sure he probably doesn't return many!

Good Luck and remember when studying to do as many MCQ's as you can…then do them all over again!

    BEC-75!
    AUD-84!
    REG-78!
    FAR-83!
    Ethics-Passed!
    Experience-Got that too

    Used Becker 2013 Self-Study & NINJA 10pt Combo Lite(AUD)
