CPA- Almost Passing?

    Merry Christmas to everyone,

I’d be very grateful if I could please get some advice regarding resumes and interviews with regards to the CPA exam. Specifically, what I’m wondering is:

Is it okay to tell employers that you almost passed a part of the CPA exam? In my case, I didn’t read the entire book for Audit, and so I missed passing by two points. I’m sure if that I read everything, I can pass (and that I intend to do so in the next few months).

    Thanks,

    Jay

Don't offer that information. Just say you are a CPA candidate. If they should ask in detail where you are in the exam process then be honest about taking Audit and your grade (if they ask). But don't say “I didn't read the entire book for Audit”. That sounds really lame and makes you come off as lazy.

There is no such thing as almost passing. When it comes to exam grading, a 74 is the same result as a 47 and a 75 is the same as a 99. If the score was based on a percentage of correct answers, it would be different but there is no possible way to quantify what a 73 actually means so don't attempt it.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

Not to beat a dead horse, but as everyone pretty much already mentioned, putting CPA candidate and any sections passed would be sufficient.

    REG - 86
    FAR - 80
    BEC - 79
    AUD - 92...I'm done woohoo!
