Whats up guys?! I’m new to the forum. Decided to join in hopes that spending time here will be productive since its a cpa forum. I’m currently studying for REG using WIley CPA. It has 3 main sections.

    1) Ethics, professional and legal 2) Business Law 3) Federal Taxation

I covered 1) and I’m on to two. My test is scheduled on Nov. 7. I might postpone in the next few days if I think I require more time. Do you think I can make it?

I face some obstacles. Regulation is incredibly boring. Rules after rules. I tried writing notes and there was too much to write. I decided to skip notes and jump to MCQs and read the text instead. How do you guys go about this? The topic somehow makes me procrastinate… Its hard to pull through this. Can MCQs, Sims and reading text be good enough? Too much stuff to write. Too much laws. I wrote 1) and I was lookin’ through my notes again and its all congested. Its frustrating.

I didn't write much of any notes for REG. Only a little bit for the tax part, nothing for the business law part. The MCQs are what really get the material to sink into your brain. Practice/repetition is the key.

I did tax before business law. I prefer to do the hard stuff first, so that if I have to cram it's easier. And the 2nd half of business law in CPAExcel is easier and less boring than the 1st half.

Make sure you get Ninja MCQ.

Hey Circadian. Thanks for the reply. So Ninja MCQs and CPAExcel Notes. I bought the Plat version of CPA excel. How are their MCQs and Sims?

I also used CPAexcel. I like the product, but there are a lot of business law MCQs that honestly could be skipped. I would just remember that the exam is primarily focusing on tax–especially on the SIMs, which is where most people struggle. So feel free to rush through the law section to get to tax faster. The main law sections can be drilled down on the MCQs. Anyway, take it with a grain of salt, I failed REG with a 74 and I'm retaking it tomorrow. So we'll see if my advice gets me through the retake 😉

Skip business law and move on to 3) Fed. Tax section. I'll do that tomorrow and I'll practice MCQs and Sims. Thanks brotha & good luck! Lets do this.

CPAExcel Notes? I have the silver(cheapo) version of CPAExcel. I read the text and did the assigned questions. Think I did most of the supplemental questions as well. Didn't have time for watching videos. When I got all done with CPAExcel, I used Ninja MCQ for 10-14 days. Ninja MCQs were great for reviewing. But who knows, maybe CPAExcel would have been enough.

I apologize. When I say notes, I meant the book. I skip the lectures and read the book instead. I got the Plat. Ver. with thousands of past exam MCQs. I'm going to take your advice and focus on P3 Fed. Taxation and study MCQs + Sims. After that, I'll return to 2) Buiz. Law hopefully before Nov. 7. I also feel uneasy being an unemployed bum. Gotta work while doin' this. Thanks again fellow Ninja warriors.
