    I might just weigh 500 pounds. I don’t know about the rest of you but for some reason I always feel like I need to be shoving some sort of food in my mouth while studying. I need to figure something else out and fast!!

    Forget about CPA and become CPT (certified personal trainer) πŸ™‚

    this process is brutal but others have done it so you can do it too, even if you weigh 500 pounds. : )

    I hear ya! I've given up on exercising and eating right until this is over. I've probably gained several pounds but mainly, my body has just turned to mush! It's full of cheetos (which I don't recommend eating while studying b/c they are so messy but I love them so I do), skittles, M&Ms, coffee, diet coke, and whatever else I can find to eat. I've also been chewing gum like nobody's business. It's like smoking. If the gum was in a cigarette pack, I would be going through 3 packs a day. I chew for about 20 minutes then get a new piece. Or I just keep adding them until I have about 5 in my mouth. Then I spit out and start over.

    Bring on the junk!

    Oh yeah – I work best under pressure! I wanted to take it 11/30 but I called NASBA and they said to take it 11/29 just to be safe. I had no other choice! I took once before and didn't pass so this is all I have left thanks to the darn 18-month rule!

    @gms LOL! I am a compulsive gum chewer as well! I go through about 5 packs of 14packs a day! (I also like to throw in about 5 pieces at a time)

    I gained like 5 lbs when I was studying for FAR. I woke one day and felt so fat (I'm not fat at all but I am my worst critic). I hadn't been working out for about 3 months! So I decided to get back in shape and start hitting the gym again! I belonng to a gym that is opened 24/7 so sometimes I go workout after I've studied all day usually around 10pm and 11pm it's a great stress reliever!

    As far as eating healthy…I recommend eating tuna! I eat tuna and Branflakes interchangeably everyday LOL. Some of my healthy snacks include, pistachios, almonds, and all kinds of fruit! The important thing is not to sacrifice our bodys for these tests–it's not worth it! No matter how much we think we need to study, let's be honest, we absolutely CAN squeeze in 30 mins of exercise in our day! =D

    @gms361, I have the same nervous energy while studying. I attribute two new cavities to chewing the sugar out of the gum and replacing it with a new piece. I can't recall the last time I had a cavity before I started studying. Try to brush and gargle more often to get the sugar off your teeth. Also, my urge to eat/chew is curbed when I have a clean, minty, mouth.

    About 2 years before I started the exam I lost 110 lbs. between the stress of buying a 200 year old house in foreclosure (don't EVER buy a short sale or foreclosure, the stress is pretty close to the exam) and then the exam, I've gained 50 back πŸ™

    I do take care of the teeth. At least that hasn't fallen by the wayside. Another nervous habit is hair-twirling. I have long hair and constantly twirl it while studying (and chewing gum). My husband will walk through the kitchen (where I've set up shop) and smack my hand if it's in my hair and I get so mad at him for doing that!

    I will have to try the gum, that might help. There for awhile I was eating sunflower seeds, every night when I went to bed my lips were all swollen from all of the salt so I realized that wasn't a good option. πŸ™‚

    Me too, I get compliments all the time on my teeth (and I don't even whiten) but my teeth weren't used to the extra sugar. So I came up with a game plan so that I wouldn't have any more problems because I was disappointed. I was also embarrassed to tell my dentist I had developed this new gum obsession. Just a warning to you guys to take extra care as you develop these new sweet related compulsive behaviors. Also, I haven't run in weeks prepping for FAR and I refuse to get on the scale. The road and I will meet again on Wednesday morning. I can't wait!

    @gms361 I just noticed I chewed 1/2 a pack of Trident today! πŸ™‚ too funny

    @ jenuno01 I like to mix grapes and blueberries….they're small and sweet! And, since I'm not actually hungry or even paying attention to what I'm eating anyway, it's my way of tricking myself into thinking I'm eating candy! Wow the mind games we play!

    Good luck to everyone who has to sit this next week!!!

    @pacific

    I totally understand. I try to work out some when studying, because exercise helps me with the stress of the whole thing. But in the last two weeks I ditch the exercise just because I get manic on the whole studying thing. By the time I finish the CPA, I swear I will be totally a certified nutjob. I don't know my @ss from first base anymore. So, the sooner I get this thing done the better! I have to hurry before the guys with the white jackets come for me!!! hahaha

    @yankee – I need to start the working out thing, I am already trying to figure out my plan of attack for AUD next month, that is unless I don't pass FAR, if I don't pass FAR on Wednesday I am going to just keep working on the material. But I need to make time for working out, it is such a good stress reducer. πŸ™‚
