    This is my very first post on this site and I admit that I have been doing nothing productive after work for the last couple years.

    I have been working at a Big 4 for and I have been waiting on reviewing and taking the exam.

    I finally started to study and took FAR and BEC but failed both with a 60 and 73 respectively. Ever since then, I took a 2 month vacation and gave up on it.

    Now that busy season going to start in…tomorrow, I almost lost all motivation to study but I can’t let that get the best of me.

    I know there’s gotta be others that were in my shoes. I know there are other that get home at 11PM but still manage to pass some exams.

    I hope one of you guys can enlighten me on what you did. I want to get it done! I need to do it for myself and prove that I can overcome this huge challenge.

    FAR - 60(Spring 2014)
    BEC - 73 (Spring/Winter) 2014)
    REG - Summer 2014
    AUD - Summer 2014

    Following.

    I work for a larger local firm, but this is my first busy season as an auditor. I'm studying for Audit and just rescheduled it for 1/25 (was 1/11). I'm not looking forward to working 55+ hours and trying to study, but this is my last exam and I have to pass!

    B - 81 (8/31/13) first attempt!
    A - 80 (2/3/14) first attempt!
    R - 89 (7/31/13) first attempt!
    F - 86 (7/2/13) first attempt!
    Licensed CPA: 12/31/14

    Becker rocks!

    @Slacker321 I am using Becker only. I did this for the last three exams and passed on my first attempt.

    Basically, I just listen to the lectures for each section (I do not read the books at all), take detailed notes while listening to the lectures, do each MCQ homework section after I finish that portion of the lecture, then do the sims at the end of the chapter. After I'm entirely done with all chapters, I skim over my written/typed notes, then do both full-length reviews. If I have extra time, I'll do sets of MCQ's to review.

    What material are you using? Any idea how many hours you'll be working? Do you travel much?

    Slacker,

    I haven't been in your shoes since I have gotten most all mine done before my first busy season coming up here. But I do have many friends in the big 4 who did this. I think the best piece of advice I got from them is do at least an hour of multiple choice a day and not to take a day off. You will hardly have any time to do large 5-8 hour chunks like you can on Sat/Sun during non-busy season.

    Hope this helps your domination of the exam! Go Hawks!

    REG: 80 (4/1/13)
    BEC: 87 (5/29/13)
    FAR: 82 (7/31/13)
    AUD: 63, 69, 86 (1/3/14)

    @Jferjamey

    Since I didn't start studying since last year, all my stuff have expired so I been borrowing Becker from whoever is willing to lend it to me.

    Now, I have the books for becker 2013 so I'm going to read them and buy the Wiley MCQs to study.

    I don't travel much at all but I average about 60-65 hours per week during busy season but Last week I worked 75.

    @sieverd

    Thanks for the advice. You definitely made the right choice getting it done.

    Since I don't have the lectures, I'm probably just going to read and do questions, although, the FAR sims killed me. I think if I had better materials, I would've done much better.
