I am so burnt out from studying. Between work and studying and life in general (although I have cut out anything that resembles a social life) I am completely exhausted and burnt out. I know I absolutely need to study if I going to pass this beast (aka REG) I am just so exhausted when I get home from work.

Anyone else feeling completely burnt out from studying on top of everything else?

What do you guys do for a little extra energy/motivation to study?

I'm with you. I'm on my last exam (BEC) and am really over this whole process. The good news – I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Oddly, however, it hasn't been as motivating as one would think.

    FAR - 72, 69, 88 (Nov 2012)
    AUD - 89 (Jan 2013)
    REG - 85 (Feb 2013)
    BEC - 83 (May 2013)
    Ethics - Passed

@Goods: I agree it is not as motivating as one would think! Good Luck!

@Mustpass I took the advice and only studied at lunch today. I feel tremendously better/less burnt out already. Had a relaxing evening. Hope to get in a lot of studying tomorrow…roughly 25 days till test day!

Up studying at 3 a.m., working 6 days (tax season), come home to two kids who need to get through homework, sports and dinner. My only day off (Sunday) is spent studying. I'm exhausted. I just keep moving forward one minute at a time…

Someday we can all check into this board and be the one with Done at the bottom.

Studying for FAR. I'm still on F2 after two weeks. Doesn't help that it's busy season. I thought it was possible to get 2 chapters done in a week? It took me 5 hours to do 90 MC questions on F2. I just couldn't remember the various concepts and couldn't concentrate for some reason.

I need to change the gameplan for studying. Glad I'm not the only with trouble concentrating after work. But at this rate I may have to reschedule FAR from end of May to beginning of July.

    AUD: 2/28/2013 - 86
    FAR: 10/19/2013 - 83
    REG: 1/6/2014 - 80
    BEC: 2/27/2014 - 81

@melio You are not alone. It is very hard to study afterwork. I pushed back my first REG exam and ended up forgetting lot of material and did not pass. Just be careful you don't end up giving yourself too much time to study.

Oh another note…just fell asleep doing flash cards. Guess I need more coffee!

@smp- Thanks. Also spacing the exams too far apart may also lead to expiration of a part. I got to be careful but my goal is pass all 4 by the end of 2013.

Meli083 – my goal is to pass all 4 by end of 2013 (November) also…I don't want to get too far into football season though 🙂

@Getting a CPA- Haha, good luck! I don't want my social skills to whither away from all this working and studying but at least my friends understand.

    FAR: 10/19/2013 - 83

@meli083 – I'm glad your friends understand. Some of mine think I study far too much and therefore think im insane…lets just say we are not so close any more!

@Getting a CPA: studying during football season is fantastically annoying…but if you get enough done before what ever game you want to watch it is a good reward! Good Luck!

During my time studying for REG, I developed extreme anxiety that manifested into painful tension headaches. Once I found out I passed, I kind of checked out of studying – which caused me to have to push back my next exams by an entire month. I lost total confidence in myself while going over the 1st three sections of BEC with Becker (Corp Governance, Strategic Planning, Cost Acctng). I'm hoping someone out there has a few words of encouragement because I don't see how I can pick myself back up from this in order to finish BEC.

    Thank you.

    - passed all 4 exams on my first try using Becker!

@almostthere22 I feel like you do right now. Studying for FAR has made me completely lose confidence in my ability to pass the exam. It's a struggle to remember anything from the study material and it totally makes me want to just give up. Definitely makes me wish I had saved an “easier” one for last. I thought BEC was hard too but I think the one thing that can really motivate you & boost your confidence would be to maybe just pick one topic that you dont feel comfortable with and master it. Study it like crazy until you can do it backwards & forwards and then move onto other topics. If you take it one piece at a time, it would be alot more manageable rather than going through 3 sections and being like “WTF is this stuff about”.

AUD: PASSED [81]; Expired, retaking August 23rd
BEC: PASSED [83]; Expired, retaking July 11th
    REG: PASSED [83]
FAR: FAILED [64]; Retaking May 23rd
