I’m leaning towards 5 pm. 8 AM is very early to be alert/able to take a 4 hour exam. Any other opinions/views?

I personally like to begin at around 12:30pm or 1:30pm… Last time I took BEC at 8 am … it is really too early for me bc I usually get up 9 am…furthermore…you may need to wait for a long time if you take 8 am. because everyone is checking in…

    AUD May 2013 Passed!
    FAR Aug 2013 Passed!
BEC Nov 2013 All passed at first try!
    REG Feb 2014 Wait...

Agree. Last test I arrived to the center at 7:30am but didn't get seated until 9:30am.

I prefer 12.30pm as well and actually going on a weekday instead of Sat. But sometimes circumstances are such that I have to go on a Sat because of work.

I don't mine 8 am either but if i can a time slot for 12 I would pick that.

Worry about picking 5 pm is – you may end up studying the whole day be exhausted by the time you go to the exam.

I always take my exams at 8AM, because I feel the freshest in the morning. I wake up early, get some coffee, have a last minute cram and get to the testing center. The exam is over by lunch and I have the rest of the day to unwind (read: have a drink or two).

However, due to availability, I'm taking my (hopefully last) exam Monday at 6:30PM. I'm going to try not to wear myself out mentally by over studying all day.

In the end, it's personal preference for each candidate. I know plenty of people who simply cannot function prior to noon.

I prefer to take mine in the middle of the day. Start time between 12-2. Get up at 8 review my notes for 2 hours. Light lunch and a mountain dew. Then go take it.

I agree with the previous post. I feel any time between 1-3 would be ideal.

I will have time to read my notes in the morning, have a big lunch, take a nap, wake up and be ready to go.

My last exam was at 9 and it was way too early. I also had to wait for half an hour at prometrics so the proctor could get everyone seated.

Obviously it depends on the person, but studies have shown that the brain preforms better in the morning.

Not to say that's correct, but just about every test I've taken in the morning I've done better on than tests I take in the afternoon. During finals, my scores were always higher for tests in the morning.

I've taken every CPA exam at 8am and passed on the first try. Just sayin…

    AUD- 97 1x
    REG- 81 1x
    BEC- 79 1x
    FAR- 88 1x

    DONE!

    10/1/12 to 2/28/14

I like 8 am. The way I see it, if your sitting in that chair clicking “begin” on your computer, even if you are a bit tired, adrenaline will kick in and getting through the test will be fine. Sure you will be worn out and useless the rest of the day, but you will be done by 12, and even better, when 5 pm rolls around, you can say, “at least I don't have to takes cpa exam tonight!”
