    Hi All,

I’m using CPAExcel online self- study and my current routine for each section is the following:

    -Watch Video

    -Read Study Text

-Take exam in study mode, review any i get wrong

-Take exam again in exam mode

    -Review Proficiency Questions

    -Review Flashcards

Is this the best way to study using CPAExcel? Do I need to read the study text, or watch the video, or what? Any input is appreciated. Seems like I’m taking longer than the average time to get through the lessons. THANKS!

Thanks tbird…I am taking FAR on Tuesday. I am sick (and puked) from doing MCQs. I am going over the sections for a third time, after reading both books (1127 pages). I have been out of school for a few years, so I spent a few months working on FAR

Hey, I am also interested in knowing the best strategy.

I recently purchased cpaexcel (the cheapest version without videos or textbooks) and has 1 year of wiley test bank. Also opted for 1 free section of videos and chose FAR as that is my first section I am taking (exactly 8 weeks from now)

I have completed a few lessons of FAR and all I did so far is read the study text, take the MC in study mode, then take it in exam mode (usually results in 100% due to the practice in study mode). I have skipped the Proficiency Questions and flashcards just because I am striving to finish the FAR section of cpaexcel in 4 weeks. Which leaves me another 4 weeks to see how well I do on Wiley Test Bank and then have 4 weeks to improve the wiley test bank scores (probably with Ninja notes)

Do you guys Think this is good enough?… How important is the material covered in the PQ and Flash cards?… Are the regular MC questions enough? I also haven't watched any of the free Videos and Slides

I Think I would prefer having physical cards…

Has anyone had success with their Android mobile app?… Looks good enough for flashcard usage … it is almost like having physical cards although, I don't think all 4100 flash cards are in their android app.

    Thanks

It will be hard to assess your performance if you will be taking the MCQs in exam mode right after the study mode. I'll recommend that you directly answer in exam mode and see all the MCQs in which you are wrong in the first try then copy and paste those questions in MsWord. After finishing every topics, you can easily review those questions in which you didn't get the first try. That is what I did during my CPA Journey but note that this may not work for everyone.

In my experience, the only good way to study CPAexcel is by reading the text and doing the questions. Some task sims will be included in some of the lessons, but you have to evaluate the time carefully. It was too tedious for me so I moved on to another course for Far since it has the most information. The initial videos are way too short…to me they really don't cover enough without having to read the text.

About the flash cards….I purchased the flash cards, some of them I don't think they will result in questions on the exam, but I love the phone app. I like it better than the course because I can go right to the topics or lessons and just do the questions and get the explainations right there, I guess there are no fillers involved. Some of the questions are not very difficult but I love the app.

    It begins with a 75

tbird27ut, you said that you read STUDY NOTES. Where did you find those? I don't see them anywhere, and I have the Gold Course, which is practically everything. Also, does anyone know where to find the app for CPA Excel? Thanks, guys!

I'm pretty sure I just did a search for it in the App Store on my iPhone. I downloaded it about a year ago though. If it doesn't appear it may already be installed on your device.

I think tbird27ut means STUDY TEXT (the little book icon). I rewrote the study text for auditing on my second attempt. It is extremely time consuming
