Best Way to Cram?

I gave myself 4 weeks to take my FAR exam on 5/31 (long story) but I need a better way to study. Right now I have been using Wiley CPAexcel and I have been going through each lesson by watching the video lectures and then taking the multiple choice quizzes after each lecture. This seems to be working OK as I feel like I am learning a decent amount but its taking me forever to go through it all. The quiz grades aren’t the best but I feel like that is partly due to me not reading the questions carefully/well although there are still sections of material that I struggle heavily with (Bonds, Statement of cash flow).

Is there any other better way that I can study more efficiently and retain more material?

@lucky hunter, I have read in previous posts that some have done endless ninja mcq's and the mcq's from their respective review courses. Some have did the mcq's until their fingers bled, lsot their mind and hair, some have written the notes 50 times and listen to audio all day everyday. There are many ways but these stood out to me. Jeff also has a pass in 20 days write up as well (google it ). I have tried to use cpaexcel many times with no luck…my attention span will not let me focus on so many pieces so I changed to ninja and am using this system as of now. Hopefully I will be able to report victory soon. Far is a beast to me, so 4 weeks might not be enough unless you are really studying 6-8 hours per day. That's without cramming, but this is what I have found.
    It's doable, and good luck.
    Add some flash cards too.

@lucky – I went through all the lectures and then did multiple choice questions after. I didn't try to learn each segment in detail first. I watched all lectures and outlined the book before starting the MCQ's. So, my entire study was almost like a giant review. After a few days of doing MCQ's I would realize where my weak areas were and I would concentrate on that chapter for a day to get stronger. I started averaging in the high 50's on MCQ quizzes and would add an average of probably 10-15% a week to my average. I took and passed them all between April 1, 2016 and August 29, 2016 while working FT, which may not qualify as cramming but I didn't take my time either.

    FAR 04/11/2016 - 84
    AUD 05/12/2016 - 79
    BEC 07/06/2016 - 81
    REG 08/29/2016

Remember in school when the professor or teacher tells you that you get one page of notes or one single note card for the exam? And then how you realize you ended up learning a lot more just by writing out all of the equations and “must know” things?

Try that for the exam. Obviously you cannot bring it in with you, but it really helped me start passing and consolidating information. I'd go through each section with the mindset that if I had the opportunity to bring one page of notes in, what would be the MOST important piece of information that would help me pass the exam. What do you think you are getting quizzed on the most in MCQ? It also helped me discover weaker areas that I realized I did not know very well. I'd even write out examples, especially for FAR and BEC.

    Add audio.

if you have to cram, which in my opinion is not the best way to approach the exams, but you gotta do what you gotta do…then i suggest buying as many MCQ test banks as you can find and hitting that for hours on end each day. Doing the MCQ will eventually flush out the concepts that you will also need for the sims.

Good luck and cram the shit outta it!

I think he audio is good when your eyes are tired from the non-stop mcq's. (audio of which I am having trouble loading, everything goes to drop box, now I can't get it on my phone. Help!) But anyway, use the audio as well as the mcq's. I also have the notes.

Use as much Lube as possible! Jk.

This is a tough question since everyone has a different learning style. Make sure u have at least a Week for a Cramming session. As you pass exams, you will figure out more efficient and affective study methods. Goodluck!
