You know how in high school there was that “theory” (and I use that term extremely loosely….rumor is probably a better term) that the ACT/SAT was easier during the Summer/December because that’s when “all the division 1 athletes would take it’? Surely that wasn’t just a Mississippi thing and everyone else heard something of the sort. But I was just wondering if there is a perceived better time to sit during a testing window (beginning, end) or an easier quarter for a particular section?

Personally, I prefer the very beginning/ very end of the window because I can see my scores faster.

Kind of random, I know. It’s Friday morning and I have NOTHING to do all day at work.

I know there are better/worse times to take it during the year. I am not sure exactly when they are, I am curious what other people have to say about this. I always like taking it at the end of the window so you only have to wait 2 weeks.

Supposedly, the 3rd qtr is the best time to sit. It has the highest passing rates. Not sure why… I believe the 4th qtr has the lowest passing rates…

Again, I'd like to know why…?

I would assume that's because you have people fully committed to studying after busy season, as well as new graduates starting to sit down and study to take exams. The other parts of the year are busy with work, holidays, etc.

Another thing I thought of is the other variables that go into passing rates. I don't work in public and never have, but based on what I've heard I cannot imagine that Q1 passing rates would be very high with busy season. I also cannot imagine Q4 being very high because of the holidays.

I can understand the 1st quarter rates, but the window for the 4th quarter is October and November. Thanksgiving isn't until the end of the month… Hmmm…

In the 4th quarter everyone is burned out from studying so much to pass during Q3 that they don't put forth as much effort.

    BEC- 83
    REG- 85

Or super bummed that they weren't one of the people who didn't pass in the easiest quarter, so they give up.

When you feel prepared. That's my advice.
