Best strategy for scheduling exam?

I just got my first NTS yesterday for the REG section. The NTS recommends scheduling the exam within 5-7 days of receipt. Should I pick a date 6-8 weeks out, or start studying and when I feel comfortable with the material schedule the exam for the following week?

    REG - 89
    FAR - 84
    AUD - 73, 86
    BEC - 89

Hmm…it probably depends how flexible your schedule is. The slots may fill up if you wait, so as long as you can take whatever is available that may work for you. I scheduled mine when I got my NTS and figured out my timeline. For AUD that worked fine. For FAR, I had to reschedule 3x, the last one costing me the $35 fee. But I also like to have a deadline that I know I have to meet (essentially) and I like having many date/time options. For instance I could NEVER take an exam at 8am…that would be a FAIL for me no matter what.

I always schedule an exam first. it forces me to set up a study schedule and stick to it. I tried to just study and set the date at a later time and I could not focus at all. I needed the pressure of knowing my test was coming up.

I would schedule it too .. depending on your location you wont find any slot available on the days you can take the test !
