Hello all so i started stuyding for the CPA around this time last year. So far I’ve token BEC twice (74,70) & audit once (67). So I’ve yet to pass an exam over a year and I’ve decided to switch to BECKER. For anyone who switched to BECKER was there an immediate difference in results?

What do you mean the Wiley's software was riddled with errors? Grammatical errors or accounting errors in solving the MCQs?

I used Becker and failed all exams once (except BEC, 75 on first attempt). That said, I would not recommend Becker. Sure, it has all of the information you will need, but be prepared to devote a ridiculous amount of time to get through it. Oh, and then there's the price tag. I got it 50% off and paid around $2k.

Don't be dismayed by not passing an exam within your first year. The CPA exams took me 2.5 years. I took FAR first and failed with a 52. I then took AUD and failed with a 68. Like I said, I passed both on my second attempts. Keep at it and don't forget to START OVER if you fail. Re-learn EVERYTHING.

    Good luck!

Both. I never used their prep…I'm talking about the Wiley classroom materials I used. There were frequent “wording” issues that left questions ambiguous…there were actual accounting errors…it was very poorly executed.

I've heard that Wiley has had more issues recently. They were really on the cutting edge in terms of apps and so on, but being first also means being the first to screw up sometimes.

One thing I think I pinpointed in studying is that the authors of these questions KNOW WHAT THEY MEAN IN THE MOMENT…but that doesn't remove ambiguity for someone seeing the question who is not privy to the author's thought process.

Oh yeah, I remember having to look up if there was a difference between “basis” and “bases” that I was unaware of, lol. WOW!

I completely eliminated the videos/lectures from my studying. I found them to be a waste of time. Everything you need to pass the exam is in the textbooks. When you finish studying you should go over the questions and test bank and you should pass without looking at your notes. If you can do that then you should be fine on the exam.

Thank you all for the advice. I'm sure Becker a be the answer for me.
