BEC or Audit?

    Hello All!

For those of you who have taken BEC and/or Audit, which do you is best to take studying for 3 weeks? I am taking REG on July 7 and I wanted to take another one in July because I failed Audit with a 51 at the end of April. During those 3 weeks I am only going to be studying for the CPA exam. I was thinking BEC because it is smaller and I wanted to start from scratch with Audit. I’m not sure if 3 weeks would be enough. I was super bummer I failed Audit after hardcore studying, but it’s life. Anyways, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If you're using Becker, I would say Audit. You already have some prior exposure and you should focus your 3 weeks on just drilling m/c questions.

BEC, for sure. It's a less-extensive exam. Plus with that AUD score, you might have to break down your study routine and try something different, as opposed to just studying using the same techniques.

Just pointing out that according to his signature, Bronx has yet to take BEC…I have taken both 🙂

In my opinion BEC is an easier exam to pass due to it's lack of sims, but takes more time to prepare for (lots and lots of forumlas to memorize). I also asked if you use Becker because I believed that Becker prepared me really well for the m/c questions on the audit exam. If I failed it's because I dropped the ball on the sims…but I think (hope) I passed.

yeah i'm using becker along with the NINJA notes and audio! i agree that it helped with the mcqs, but my sims were ridiculous

I thought about doing audit again then, but I don't want to fail audit again haha

i keep going back and forth about it ;/

I'm scared just because of those damn FAR sims haha. You felt confident on the m/c questions though??

Very true, let me be clear: I have not taken BEC. I am merely basing this on hearsay. I also know that if I score a 51 on AUD, I don't think 3 weeks would be enough to get me to a 75.

I would suggest BEC. You should probably start studying for Audit from scratch.

BEC is less material but it has a good amount of memorization. I actually like the shorter study time for memorization related things. It's less time you have to keep the material in your head.
