Hey guys! I passed FAR, AUD & REG all on the first try with no problems. BEC on the other hand is kicking my ass. Scored a 73 the first time and 70 the second time so I’m not too far off but I need to pass this come October or I lose FAR. What I need from you is specific advice as far as things that you have done to get you over the hump. I’m particularly interested in people who have had to retake the test. I’m using Yaeger videos, Ninja Audio and Wiley testbank mainly. This last attempt I used Ninja MCQ a little. I’m not going to blame it on my review material….it ultimately falls on me……I know that every test is different so I need BEC specifics. Ready, set , go!!!

The only section I will NOT sacrifice for BEC is AUD, but I will rather retake FAR and REG anytime..

It looks like you were on the bubble on your first attempt. How are you doing on the written communications? I would try drilling at those. For variance analyses and the capital budgeting sections copy down all the tables and example in the book and study those a lot.

Kricket, I did get your email. I've printed out what you sent me to make it easier to review. I'm sure this will help me tons! Thx so much!! It's nice to see the formulas all together. Really need to drill the variances!!

Got comparable on writing last time around. Haven't received my score report this time around so we will see. My only problem with writing is timing really. I don't feel like the topics have ever been very hard…normally I spend more time then I would like on the MCQ and feel rushed on the writing.

Feel like reading the book might help me this time around as well. ..

Casa – One approach I took with all parts was I read the entire book (somtimes 2x) and then I read the book in order of difficult, easiest to hardest, with the hardest as close to the exam as possible.Hope this helps.

I was in similar situation in 2013. cleared REG, FAR, AUD, and then that stupid BEC (I just cant stand BEC) fourth attempt I cleared (score79) and I lost Audit credit (earlier score 85) and this testing window I cleared audit, and finally done with all four sections. For bec I used gelim m/c test bank, wiley test bank, roger questions, ninja m/c, ( bought one week before my exam and that helped!!) ninja notes and becker ( i bought the becker cd in amazon for $75 which had lectures and m/c questions) In the last attempt I spent more time listening to the lectures and focused heavily on concepts.

Casa – Are you going to the GAO conference in Lafayette in November? My husband and son are coming with me because the first day of the conference is my son's birthday. When it's over Friday afternoon, we are planning a weekend trip to the Big Easy. Hopefully, I can get Saint's tickets and a parking spot at the Dome. Any suggestions on things to do? Son will be 17, so the usual New Orleans fare wouldn't be appropriate.

Just got my score report for BEC and it is pretty ugly.

OPS MGMT – WEAKER – same as last score report…what is contained in this???

STRATEGIC PLANNING – WEAKER – last time I was comparable – (1)

IT – WEAKER – last time I was stronger – (2)

ECON – WEAKER – last time I was stronger – (2)

FINANCIAL MGMT – COMPARABLE – last time I was weaker – 1

CORP GOV – STRONGER – last time I was comparable – 1

The numbers on the side represent how my score changed in regard to my performance level. The weird thing is if you sum these up you get (3) which is the number of points my score decreased. 73-3=70….coincidence?????

I scored comparable on the Written Communications again….I think I really need to focus on the MCQ….any other tips for MCQ??

I am in totally the same boat.

First time I got a 70 second time 68.

First time I was comparable on everything, stronger in IT and weaker in Economics.

Still waiting on my score report.

I don't know what else to do in order to pass the exam, I pulled out all the stops this time around and did worse.

For now I am moving on to FAR, and taking BEC after that.

My audit score expires in December, so I am freaking out.
