I took BEC for the first time in November 2019 and got a 73. I took it again in January 2020 and got a 74. Any tips that I can use to pass on the third time? I use WileyCPA and whenever I do the practice tests I get about a score of 80-90. I have also done nearly every problem WileyCPA has to offer so I don’t know if using Wiley for the third time would be beneficial.I felt very prepared for the for the retake and thought I did good enough to pass but I ended up just falling short. Any tips/advice are welcome.

I recently passed BEC using Wiley, but I also used Gleim's test bank as a supplement. I honestly think Gleim's test bank helped quite a bit. In my opinion, some of Gleim's questions were a bit more difficult, but their explanations were much better in helping me understand certain concepts. I also paid the additional shipping & handling to have the hard copy of the questions mailed to me, which included outlines for each study unit. Some of Gleim's outlines explained certain topics better than Wiley; on the flip side, I felt Wiley explained other topics better. I called Gleim, and the sales rep gave me a nice discount for the entire test bank. I think the regular price is $999 +tax & shipping, and I was able to get the entire test bank for $667 (including tax and shipping).

Quite a few people speak highly of Ninja, but I went the route of Gleim because my job paid for it – they weren't willing to pay for a monthly subscription, but paid a one-time lump sum for Gleim.

One last thing that I almost forgot about. I went through all of the LIVE review sessions that came with Wiley. You probably receive emails when they are having a live course, but they upload the recordings for later viewing. I think reviewing those recordings helped me tremendously. In many areas, the professors provided some great tips and tricks for some of the difficult problems/subjects. I honestly felt like those tips and tricks should have been incorporated into the regular study text/videos.

Please do me a favor n pass on the 3rd attempt because it was very painful experience to pass on my 7th try. Know your weakness, this is highly critical. I thought i knew variance analysis but i didnt know fully as i struggled alot with the variance analysis simulation. I also use wiley as well but ive only purchased the books and test banks so i rely on edspira n farhat lectures on YouTube. If you are struggling with variance analysis, i highly recommend allthingsmathmatics and accounting DR on YouTube. They're exceptional at teaching variance analysis. Good luck

I used Becker exclusively and I really focused on remembering the buzzwords they said for the written portion (which is still computer graded).

I don't think I did particularly well on the rest of the exam but I got a 92 on it. I'd bet that I nailed the written portion that I got. For reference excluding the written portion of the simulated exams I got a 56 on the becker practice tests. I got a 52 on the becker practice test for REG and passed with a 78 (though I know that I got an entire sim wrong on that becker reg practice exam because I entered my answers in total versus in thousands like they wanted, lol)

I used Wiley, supplemented with Ninja, specifically the audio and notes. Are there any areas in BEC that you absolutely hate? For instance, for me, I was dreading economics and cost accounting. What areas does your score report show that you are weak in, if any?

I would probably suggest investing in Ninja, and spend a week re-writing the Ninja notes. I did that, and I felt it helped.

I scored weaker in Corporate Governance and Economic Concepts, stronger in Financial Management and Information Technology, and comparable in Operations Management. Cost accounting is the one area that i dread the most

I definitely recommend GLEIM for BEC. You can't really go over the same material more than twice because you'll just end up memorizing the answers and not really know the material concepts. It is a tricky exam that shouldn't be taken lightly. Studying for it is harder than the actual exam, though. I spent 7 weeks and followed all of the GLEIM adaptive learning prompts and did all of the test bank questions per section. Also, check out the AICPA mock exam, which I found helpful.
