Alright, I have a test scheduled this month so I am pushing hard on my study plan, but today I’m making all kinds of silly mistakes on the MCQs. I feel like my mind just isn’t fresh and like it is a wasted day thus far. Has anyone run into this problem? What did you do to salvage the day?

This happens to me a lot, actually. I usually take a break for a little, maybe a nap, a walk, or eat something healthy. Just do you for an hour or two. Then go back and look IN DETAIL at what you got wrong in the book. Reread, understand. I haven't passed any exams yet, so take this with a grain of salt. But I hope this helps. 🙂

I agree with @palmtop. I get so discouraged when I start answering questions like that, or when I'm just so tired and can't focus/comprehend what I'm reading. I've been using every excuse under the sun all week but I know that I need to kick it in overdrive and get it done for REG in 3 weeks.

It's happening right now. I am so sleepy, I feel like I am going in circles and just can't focus. have not started mcq's like I was supposed to, reading over several topic first, Ohhhh I think, I am going to take a short nap. The coffee is not doing it and try to regroup.

    It begins with a 75

Yup, I have definitely been there. I take a short break and then try to get back to it. If I'm still struggling, then I will just stop with MCQ and go to something else – watch Blitz videos, write notes, etc. Something “easy” that gives my brain a break but keeps it from being a total wasted day.

I have had this happen to me on FAR and currently on AUD. I generally get pissed when it happens too but you just have to dig deep and just read the why that answer is correct. I usually do about 300 questions a day so about 4 hrs when I'm in full review mode. Im worried because I have AUD the 26th and I'm not scoring well. Gotta just grind it out.

that is hardcore but good for you! the most i can do is 170-200 ques a day during my review period. I can't ever go beyond that, my brain will explode. Like everyone said, taking a break for an 1hr or so then go back to studying will help a lot.

it depends what section – for AUD I can do 200 after work but for FAR it is around 50…..it really depends on the section and what you do during the day.

But to answer the original question – take a break – take the evening off – go spend a couple hours doing your hobby – you can't forget to live during this process

    REG: 65, 77*

wow I'm surprised at the fact that you 300 questions is a lot. I thought people did well more than that. When I did FAR I was doing a little bit more. I just strictly do MCQ's after I'm finished watching all the Roger videos. I also don't work so I wake up at 8am and start my studying (trying not to be a bum).

EDM – if you don't work then 300 seems very reasonable but for ppl who do it is different.

I have noticed that I can get through a lot more AUD and BEC questions then FAR/REG after work due to them being more conceptual and less number or calculation based

    FAR: 63, 55, 62
    REG: 65, 77*
    AUD: Fail, 64, 71
    BEC: 72, 74, 81

Well, a for me a minute to two minutes is spent on each MCQ. So, at best, you are cranking out questions for 7.5 hours. And then you are reviewing. I put in a lot of hours, but 300 shows that you are pumping them out.

I think when you are not retaining info after a period of time studying, it's time to call it a day and give your brain a break.
