AUD in one month

Throughout the week I come to the another71 website and read and re-read stories of future and current CPA’s who struggles, faced adversary and eventually passed the exam!

I’m hoping to pass AUD this time around! I was certain I passed the 2nd time I sat for the AUD and this will be my 3rd bout with AUD in 7 months.

    10/2013 – 66

    1/2014 – 74

    4/2014 – I just want a 75 or better!

When I didn’t pass in January it was a kicked to the gut and a blow to my confidence. Now I’m thinking if sitting for AUD in one month is realistic or not? I’ve scheduled the date already and dong my best to survive another busy season with budgets, time constraints, w/p’s, producing financial statements, and long hours. Oui.

I’m not a quitter by any means and would like to know if this goal of preparing again for AUD and passing is an achievable goal? Any input and tips are welcomed.

Depends on how much of the AUD materials you remember and how much time you can put towards reveiweing the materials and gaining the knowledge again. You received a 74 on your last attempt so you know most of the material its just a matter of narrowing down your weaknesses from your strengths and spending more time there. If you feel you can prepare yourself enough to pass the exam with one month of studying through busy season, I'd say go for it since you are close to that coveted 75. Although keep in mind, you're not studying for that 1 extra point, you need 75 points. I would recommend taking a progress test with questions from all chapters and see how you do. If you fail miserably I'd extend that date. That's just me but I've heard people who've past AUD with just 3 weeks of studying their first time sitting. Good Luck

    AUD: (65)(66) 77
REG: (66) (48) destroyed me mentally.....
    FAR: (68) (66)(69)(71)
    BEC: (63) 75

It can be realistic. It just depends on how much effort you are putting into studying the material. Like what Justanothercandidate said, you scored a 74 on your last attempt so it's not like you don't know the material. I would brush up on the weaker areas based on your performance report.

I recently graduated this past December and began studying for the CPA exam for the first time. I spent 3 weeks studying AUD and 1 week to review and sat right away for the exam. Thank God I passed. Now let me tell you that I am not that great when it comes to studying and understanding the material. I study very hard and force myself to learn the material to get reasonable grades. If someone like me can pass the exam, I certainly feel you can too. Believe in yourself and you will do what it takes to get it done. Best wishes!

    AUD - 01/18/14 - 81
    BEC - 05/29/14 - 85
    FAR - 07/18/14 - 81
    REG - 11/18/14 - 80

@ justanothercanidate – Apparently my Kryptonite was “Planning for the Engagement?” I have faith I'll get or exceed the coveted 75 this next time around! I'm going thru each chapter now and will do progress test a few times a day leading up to the exam. Also I've started writing my Ninja Notes down as well. Here's to +10 point Ninja Combo!

@ spartan – Thanks for your response and will brush up on my weaker areas. Also, good job on getting on the “Study Wagon” right out of college! That's a great move and regret on my part. Hit those books while you're mind is still in college mode. Trust me when I say this. It's harder to study when you're a few years in your profession. Good luck!

@ ayafzal78 – Anything is possible and would recommend getting into a regiment with studying and stick with it each and everyday! Eventually it becomes habit. I recommend doing the following:

    – Know the material and why the answer is correct.

    – Look for “keywords” in your MCQ.

    – Read all the questions even though you feel you have the right answer.

    – Understand the different types of engagements and reporting types.

    – Know how to navigate the authoritative literature. Again, keywords. (TRUST ME)

    – Good luck!
