Well, I sat for the AUD section on July 15th and unfortunately I came up a little short with a 74. I was just wondering if anyone could give me any advice on what to do…

I reapplied on NASBA yesterday, planning to retake it before the end of August, and I received my NTS today. The catch is that they won’t let me retake it until October 1st. I was planning on taking FAR on that date so now my schedule is all messed up. My NTS for FAR, REG, and BEC expires on January 8, 2016, so that gives me a little bit of a time crunch. Is it possible to study FAR and keep up to date on AUD to sit for both of them in October? Or should I just forget AUD right now and focus on FAR? Btw, I am studying with the Gleim review course.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thank you,

    Eric

    FAR: 85
    BEC: 84
    AUD: 74, 83
    REG: ??

I dare say that even if you had passed AUD you would have been hard pressed to fit the other 3 in before your NTS expired. I don't like to move on until I have passed a section so I would vote to continue with AUD and take it on 10/01 then immediately start studying for FAR and take it at the end of November. There is some overlap between the two in material. You would lose your NTS for REG and BEC, but you could have two passes before the end of the year and not feel like you have to completely start studying AUD all over again. If you don't want to do that then keep going with FAR and take it at the beginning of October then BEC at the end of November. Make sure you don't reapply for NTS until you are closer to taking the exams so you don't have to worry as much about the NTS expiring and putting undo pressure on yourself to cram sections into a testing window.

CPA Exam - Finally DONE (November 2014)
    BEC (08/10/13) 80
    AUD (08/24/13) 65 (11/13/13) 85
    FAR (04/12/14) 81
    REG (07/19/14) 69 (11/29/14) 87!!

It depends on your issues on AUD really. I feel the logical order is FAR then AUD because AUD has the possibility of J/Es on the sims so knowing those would help. You have 2 months so I would do FAR in early October and squeeze in AUD and BEC before the end of November. Then you could possibly do REG in a month without seeing any daylight.

Also since we don't know your prep for AUD, I feel the best idea would be FAR in October, AUD at the end of November then BEC in January leaving you with REG for the end of February or early April.

People want to push these exams through but you really need to prepare and take slightly longer depending on your abilities and job priorities.

    Journey Started - January 2015
    FAR - 4/2015 - Passed
    AUD - 7/2015 - Passed
    BEC - 8/2015 - Passed
    REG - 11/12/2015 - Passed

Thanks guy,. I really appreciate the feedback! I think I am going to stick to FAR right now and take that in October. Then BEC and REG. Audit will have to wait until February.

This exam is a bigger eye opener than I thought! Not just the material but also learning the exam process. I applied for three sections at once to save a little money. Obviously, you can't look at saving a couple bucks for this exam. You are in or you're out. Good luck to you all if your still studying and thanks again!!
