I just started work full time and plan to start studying for the CPA. I’m thinking about getting the Becker online study program, but I’m worried about doing it all in 6 months and getting overwhelmed. Is it possible to apply and get an NTS for just 2 of the exams, take the Becker online courses individually for those 2 exams, take those 2 exams, then repeat for the other 2? That way I could take 2 exams then get another NTS for the other 2 so I can give myself more time. (I know it would be more expensive.) I hope my question makes sense.

I am not sure if it varies by state. But I applied in VA and I was allowed to register section by section ( I didn't have to apply all 4 sections at once). I just have to apply for the section I am ready to take and it takes about 2-3 days to get approved by the state board. Then I can pay for that particular section and it takes about a day to get the NTS. I think the NTS expires in a year. Again, I applied in VA and I am not sure if it is different for your state. Good luck!!

You can get multiple NTS' and you can get Becker for 2013. I'm a little confused on what the 6 month period is, unless that's your states NTS period. But yes, you can do it separate, just be sure to to complete all 4 parts within the maximum time period.

Thanks! I'm taking it in Maryland and the rule is 6 months for one NTS. I will just apply for the exams separately.
