Application pushed back :(, when to start studying? Now or wait?

I just received a phone call from my community college saying that they will not send out the form until the first day of Spring Quarter to show that I am enrolled, even though I am enrolled for my last 4 credits >:(. In WA I can finish my remaining credits within 180 days of the first exam. It doesn’t begin until April 2nd!!! So I know that I lost my fees for the application and I have to wait even longer to take the exam. I am guessing I won’t even get my NTS until April 23-25th because of the mail time, and then the application processing time. I am so annoyed as I am enrolled, but they just won’t do it. So is it possible that I may be able to get a spot on the 26th, 27th, or 30th of April if I get my NTS by the 25th? I can’t imagine there being much room left by THEN! I am guessing the slots will be few in far between, is that a correct assumption? What should I do for my studies? I have gone through some of it already as I was hoping to get my first exam the first week of April (I have Spring Break off from my work). Let’s say hypothetically I can test on April 30th (Monday), that is basically 10 weeks away. Should I continue studying or should I wait a few weeks and start over? I have read that it’s not that good to take a long time to study as you can lose the information. I just want to get this thing rolling!! Would it really be that bad to continue studying and just do MCQ and SIMS over and over when I have extra time at the end? Any advice is helpful

Why cant you test in early May?

Which section are you taking first? If you are taking FAR, you are probably fine starting your studies now because there is so much content. The material for BEC and AUD is not as extensive, so you wouldnt really need the whole 10 weeks.

Oh, sorry I forgot to say that I am taking FAR first. I could do early May, but I was really hoping to take AUD at the end of May. If I don't have time, then I will just have to wait and take it the first of July. Well hearing that about FAR makes that better. I have only finished 4 hours of the 51 hours of video for the FAR (Yaeger).

Ahh, gotcha. That makes sense. I think you have a couple of options.

Option #1 – If you think you'll get your NTS by April 25th, you should have no trouble scheduling an exam by the 30th. Since it is the middle of the testing window as opposed to the end of the testing window there should be open spots at your nearest testing center. If all the spots are taken at your nearest testing center, then you should be able to find a center within a couple hours drive. That will allow you to take FAR on April 30th and AUD on May 31.

Option #2 – Slow your roll. It is alright to take one test per quarter. Some people think they need to take two per quarter and hopefully pass one or maybe both. I would think that having to retake sections would not be fun. You could take the stress out of it and just give yourself plenty of time for each section. Will your studying be impacted if you havent received your NTS by April 23rd? If you can stay focused on the studying, you should be ok. Just know that its not necessarily a race to pass all four as quickly as possible. Passing is more important than passing quickly.

Thanks for taking your time to reply Mini. There are two testing centers in WA, one is 30mins and the other is 1hr & 20mins or so. So I do have two options. The next closest in WA is Spokane and it's 5-6 hrs away. I just want to get them done sooner than later you know :)! I almost feel useless when I am trying to achieve something, but I can't work on it yet. I don't like to just sit around and do nothing. I have been trying to get a full time job/internship, so I am not sure when that could happen. When it does, then I will have less time to study compared to having a pretty good amount of time now because I work 25-30hrs or so. I'll will just continue to study, and see what happens with the NTS and just plan on doing it at the end of April. When that time comes and I have to wait until May then I will just use that time to study more and work out the weak areas and extra review time. Thanks!
