Anyone use nootropics for reviewing?

For those that are not familiar, nootropics are ” referred to as smart drugs, brain steroids, memory enhancers, and cognitive enhancers as well as intelligence enhancers, are drugs, supplements, nutraceuticals, and functional foods that improve mental functions such as cognition, memory, intelligence, motivation, attention, and concentration.”

I have HORRIBLE memory as it is, and i have the attention span of a goldfish. Just wondering if anyone has had any success using it and what brand nootropic do you use?

only thing I've done is that I read somewhere on here that chewing peppermint gum is supposed to improve memory. No idea if there is any value to the theory but I can't think of a possible downside to it, so I am all about the gum now.

You think you have the attention span of a goldfish… man, I woke up this morning at 3am. I did a good 43 econ MCQs, played COD4 (yes, OG COD), downloaded J.Cole's new album and burnt the CD, looked at x-rated stuff online, took a short nap after I was done touching myself, showered, misced (miscer right hurr), killed a spider (which took a good 30 mins.) and some other stuff I probably forgot.

If I had focused I could have finished twice as many questions with quality and started on the next section.

But to answer your questions.. I've been using nootropics lately. I take 4 grams of piracetam and 2 grams alcar in the morning and at night. I take 2.5 grams of choline in the afternoon and right before bed.

I take a multi, fishoil, caffeine pills, zinc, and pantothenic acid also.

    Ask me anything.

    Roach,

i basically need something else to try, preferably something thats already prepared in one capsule or 2. I've been looking for piracetam at some local supplement stores, but last I checked, shipping was getting held up at customs. What are the actual purpose for each of those 3 items that you're taking (piracetam, alcar and choline). I think Ive read somewhre that choline is reccommended w piracetam for headaches or something but I could be wrong. Does it actually work? How much is placebo effect you think?

    @roach

or how do you feel about piracetam taken by itself?

I took alphabrain from the Onnit website, just based on stuff Ive heard and positive feedback ive read but it didnt do much for me, aside for the clear dreams. but thats not really what i was in it for.

    dsal,

I've only been on piracetam for a good week and a half. I would say the effects (if any) are minimal. Lets say you already have bad studying habits or memory.. its not going to all of a sudden make you Mr. limitless.

I don't know about the headaches with piracetam. I took 2 grams the first day and my head felt extremely heavy in the back but it wasn't a pain. Choline helps reduce the mental stress of daily life supposedly.

It might all be a placebo effect but you know its about a hundred bucks for all these supplements.

I will continue taking it… I do believe its helping me in someway. I'm actually getting really good at guessing on the MCQ. I don't know if this stuff is making me think more clearly or that I'm actually learning the material!

Here's another thing to consider. Fishoil is great for your body and mind. So is a daily multivitamin and zinc; however, you don't go question if they're working or not… in fact, you assume they are because your doctor, mom, whoever recommended it to you. If you have money get some..

I used the last 4 of my adderall for test days. IMHO definitely worth it.

Or just drink plenty of water and stay hydrated throughout your day.

    A gallon/day works wonders.

@ROACH… You are hilarious. I needed the laugh. These boards are filled with accountants with very few skills related to humor. Please post randomly on more threads. lol
