So this is my 3rd FAR retake since October 2013. Despite reviewing Flashcards, listening to Ninja Audio, & doing Ninja MCQ’s I can’t seem to get my trending and average trending score past 60%. I’ve spent the last hour reviewing the forum to see how many people have passed the exam with similar scores to mine. I have found it has been done, ppl have passed the actual exam with lousy practice scores.

Mentally I’m having trouble staying in the fight as this seems like another fail, waste of two months of my time and $200 of my dollars to fail by a few effn points. I’ve scored 60, 70, and 67 and cant seem to get over the hump. I just want to scream!

Trying to stay positive this last week b/c I realize my attitude is the only thing I control but Im having a mountain of difficulty.Im just so sick of studying for this GD test!!!

Are there a few key topics you keep messing up over and over? Instead of just doing MCQs over and over, work on mastering a few key topics that could take you over that 60. For me, it's bonds, pensions, marketable securities.

I got through all the material just about a week or two ago and feel like I'm not really progressing either. I'm trying to find the areas where i'm repeatedly missing the question and going back to find what makes it click finally.

    BEC - 02/21/15 - 82
    FAR - 05/29/15 - 82
    AUD - 07/09/15 - 93
    REG - 11/14/15 - 80

    All done!!!

@Wanna-B I haven't taken the test yet, but I usually review for about a week before the exam and do MCQ for each section until I'm comfortable (which is what I am doing now for FAR). I would echo @Mommyof3's advice and focus mostly on the areas that you seem to be unsure of. Mine, without a doubt, is government, so I will study that before I leave tomorrow for my test.

I'll also be getting some beers later to relax/recharge before tomorrow.

Good luck and Go Steelers!! (native Pittsburgher…)

    FAR - 93 5/26/15
    BEC - 90 8/10/15

@Zumo76 thanks for the tip! I will check Roger out on lunch. Hopefully I can pick up something. My weak areas are Revenue Recognition, PPE, Taxes, JV. Basically section 2 in Ninja MCQ Financial Statment accts.

@smazthespaz Good luck on your exam! I was born at Allegheny General went to St. Peters and MLK grade school on the north side. Moved to StL in 1985. I've got family on the Mexican War Streets and Brighton Road. Havent had the chance to get back as often as I would have liked. Could really use a hoagie and an Iron City right now!!! What about you?

@Wannabe I grew up in Cranberry Twp, but I went to Pitt for college. So I got a chance to live in Oakland for about 5 years. I also had to move (for work). I've lived in Columbus for about a year now, so I still live close enough that I can get back on the regular. I had a chance to see the Pirates on Friday w/ friends before I had to come back here to study…

Didn't get a chance to grab an IC, but I did have a couple Yuenglings and a Primantis at the game!

Well, off to the exam center. If I look at this material any longer, my eyes will start to bleed.
