I’ve had this issues since the first time I took my very first exam, but have held back on bringing this up until now….

Every time I go to Prometric to take the test, their electronic reader has a hard time reading my fingerprint. Sometimes, the person there will keep playing around with it and trying move my finger and eventually it will capture. Sometimes, the person there just doesn’t have the patience and will just take my thumb print manually with ink.

Anyone else here have this issue where they can’t get their fingerprint to capture on Prometric’s fingerprint reader?

Make sure you don't have any lotion on your hands when you go. Wash your hands and put baby powder on them. I used to work for the Sheriff's office and one of my jobs was to put inmates on the AFIS machine, which is a much bigger version of the fingerprint reader that Prometric has. Whenever I had trouble with an inmate the baby powder worked every time. Of course theirs didn't work because they had burned their prints off smoking crack. Women of a certain age tend to lose their fingerprints due to washing dishes without gloves and using bleach and other chemicals to clean with.
