AnonymousInactiveSo glad to see this thread (and see that it's not just me!) I put on 15 lbs since I started studying last fall and it is so depressing. Prior to studying, I went to lot of gym classes and had a clean diet. Now, I'm trying to cram in every moment of studying outside of work/family that I can. I don't want a CPA baby!
We will pass this exam and get back to the gym!

CPA_RunnerMemberGained 30 during the year I was studying which sounds pretty common haha. Lost it all within 3 months of being done though.

memmy29ParticipantUgh- I hear ya. I'm on the way back. Between finishing the M.Acc. and then a year spent on the CPA I gained almost 30 pounds. I got licensed in June and am down about 12 pounds. I'm not even working out, just cutting calories. I'll have to work some yoga in eventually or something- I feel like I've been so sedentary for so long!
Good luck!

I'm 43 with 2 grown-up sons ages 22& 21.
Gaining weight is my least worry. I can lose several pounds in no time.
My biggest struggle is how to gain score.
Yay.

AnonymousInactiveI took an exam 2 days ago, and won't be taking another till October, so I'm taking the rest of the month off studying and am going to try to do something about this problem. Not sure how much you can do in 2 weeks, but by golly, I'll give it my best shot! I've never been a big exerciser, but it felt so good to work out some yesterday evening and this morning. Maybe just because it's some semblance of normal life! π I got a body fat percentage monitor thing and am hoping to drop at least a couple percentage points before I start back to studying…maybe that will help me feel a bit less flabby as I finish things out!

AnonymousInactiveYes, I gained weight while studying because I hardly moved for weeks. However, right around the test time I was such an anxious mess that I couldn't eat and lost the weight. I am sure I will gain it all back within a few days though π

KayMemberWhen I was doing MBA (4 semesters in 14 months), I lost 5 pounds.
For CPA prep, I gained almost 10 pounds mainly due to foot injury from soccer – I play soccer every Sunday morning, but couldn't play for a couple of months due to the injury, and gained a lot of weight very quickly.

AnonymousInactiveMy best study days come after I work out in the morning. If I just wake up and try to jump into things it usually goes poorly, especially if I'm doing MCQ. It's also a good way to force yourself to take a break. I prefer the method of waking up, watching videos, working out, then doing MCQ and sims. Body is really awake for what I consider the most important part
This summer I wanted to lose 40ish pounds (recently retired collegiate athlete who doesn't want to carry the extra bulk). My 1st official day of studying in mid June was also the first day of my weight loss program and it isn't easy when all I do while studying is crave snacks. Constantly having a glass of water/iced tea/lemonade by me has helped greatly. I also haven't started work yet and don't have a family so have less obligations than most people on here.

Never_Give_Up1MemberOh man have I gained weight! I am 6'2″ and was sitting around 195 before the exam. At my peak I was up to 220 but have since dropped back down to 210. That is one of my biggest motivators right now… I miss the gym and I cant wait to start going again.

HappyDayssMemberKey to passing the exams is the Brookside Dark Chocolate Pomegranate from Costco. I am actually eating them now!
On a serious note, i have noticed within the past 8 months of prepping for the exams, my work out clothes have become lounge wear. I hate the gym but I can not wait until I can hit the gym. YEA I ACTUALLY WANT TO GO TO THE GYM!!
However, I do those 30 day fitness challenges. currently doing the squats/crunch challenge.
Done ^_^
