I work at a CPA firm and have two daughters. Trying to juggle my job, kids schedules and studying for this exam is the hardest thing I’ve ever done. It’s overwhelming and completely exhausting. Just wondering if anyone else is trying to manage this – might make me feel a little better. 🙂

I also have two daughters, 3 and 8, and work full-time in corp accounting. This has been the one of the most challenging parts of my life to date. I have been blessed with a super supportive husband and mom who do all they can to make it possible. I constantly struggle with the time lost with my family. My mom always reminds me that this too will pass and it is not only for my future, but for the future of my family as well. When I have a harder day with the whole exam thing, I just think about what a positive example I am setting for my girls. They see their mama working hard and studying to achieve something important. This alone is priceless, and is part of positive parenting in itself. I try to find balance by studying in the morning before work, staying a little late and studying again after they go to bed. In between it all i make sure to have at least 2 hours a night with them for dinner, homework, soccer, ect… It's so hard, I always feel tired, but in the end I know it will be worth it. I also fit in some “sanity” time when I can ~ aka exercise.. This allows me to be more present in the limited time I get with my kids. Keeps me from being grumpy 🙂 this process is like a marathon ~ lots of training, but you can't finish without taking care of you too!

Great thread! I am back at it after working for 20 years. I have twins who are 16 – one who is in counseling 2 days a week and also have a daughter who is 6. PTA mom, working FT, husband works FT as well. Thanks for all the inspiration !
