Advice: Which section next?

So, I passed FAR in Feb and BEC in May…

Any recommendations on which to tackle next? I think I’m leaning toward AUD. I’m probably looking at either the very end of August or the very beginning of October as a target date.

In my current studies of AUD, I've found that there is some crossover from FAR. Taking that ASAP might be a good idea. Good luck!

I would gun for AUD in August. It doesn't take a ton of time to study for, passing FAR will help you understand it a little better, and getting it out of the way in August will give you a full year to tackle REG.

    FAR: May 1st, 2014 - 91
    AUD: May 29th, 2014 - 97!
    BEC: July 16th, 2014 - 91
    REG: August 29th, 2014 - 88

Definitely take something in the next window. It could help prevent losing passed sections in the future.

I would say AUD, but a couple of people here recently said they wished they hadn't put off REG 'til last.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

My advice would be to take which ever one you feel least comfortable with next. Save the one that is easier, for you, for last.

Since there can be some crossover between FAR and AUD, I would recommend AUD.

However, if you're not looking to take an exam until the end of August, I would go for REG. Assuming you're going to start studying soon, 3 months seems like a long time to study for AUD. 3 months seems like a long time to study for any single exam IMO (unless you can only fit in an hour or 2 per day), but REG has more material in it than AUD does so based on timing I would say REG.

Is there any reason you wouldn't take one earlier than end of August? Personally, I would take AUD in mid-to-late July, giving you about 2 months to study, then I would take REG late October or early November.

    @k917,

Good questions. Looking at the NINJA Study planner, maybe sitting for AUD at the beginning of August would be my best bet. August is going to be a busy month with out of town weddings, etc. so if I can get AUD done before then that would be great. I'm not going to start studying until probably the second week of June, so that would give me right at ~2 months if I'm looking at an early August date.

As for how much I'm able to study, 18-20 hours a week is about the most I can realistically do without ending up divorced before I get my license…lol

Is 2 months of prep reasonable for AUD? I did 2 months for BEC and consistently did 15-20 hours a week. But that was BEC

I guess I could get my NTS and not make the exam appointment just yet, and see how it goes.

I personally would recommend REG. It's the more difficult of the two, so it would be nice to get it out of the way

    BEC - 69, 70, 82 - DONE
    FAR - 59, 77 - DONE
    REG - 53, 70, 85 - DONE
    AUD - 66, 68, 70, 85 - DONE

I wouldn't say AUD is “easy” by any means, but it's less material and more straight-forward than REG. If you're looking for a little relief, take AUD. Also, there isn't any overlap of FAR information with REG, so no biggie if you postpone it until later. But, honestly, if you already succeeded in FAR, nothing is going to be that difficult 🙂

    AUD: 84 - Oct. 2013
    BEC: 83 - Feb. 2014
    REG: 91 - May, 2014
    FAR: 68, 96 - Oct. 2014...DONE
