    Hello Guys

I am using Yaeger to Study for FAR. I’m bit confused on how to approach the material. I watched the lecture a little bit and it seem really good but its mostly going over some Multiple Choice question. Something I really like but what I want to know is, what is the best approach to Yaeger.

Read the material, then listen to lecture and do the multiple choice question for further understanding or Listen to the lecture then read the material so you understand it while reading then MCQ.

This is kind of throwing me off right now.

If you can help, that would be great

Hey Shane. I always watch the lecture first, take notes, and when they go over MCQ I pause the video and try and answer them myself. Then I listen to them explain the answer. After I am through with the lecture I re-read my notes and re-read the parts of the book that they go over. Then I do the additional questions suggested in the book and after that I do the online homework. I found that by doing this I am able to learn the material better. Also, don't be afraid to rewatch the videos. If I found that I was not answering a lot of the questions correctly (ex. Leases) I would re-watch that section and re-read all my notes as well as do tons of MCQ on that topic. You need to figure out how long you have to study and make a schedule accordingly. I watch at least 1 hour of video a day. Hope this helps!

I've used Yaeger for all four sections and I think it's pretty good. I usually watch the lectures and take notes simultaneously. When they go over the MCQ, I pause the video and try the question on my own. Then I do the assigned homework questions after the lecture and spend some time in the test bank on my own. I rarely ever read the entire text, because they are basically summarizing it in the lecture. For topics that you find are harder to comprehend or that you think that they don't spend enough time covering, I would read the text. Otherwise you may be wasting time read the text and watching the lectures.

    Good luck!

I passed all four sections on my first try and didn't stress over it. This is how I studied:

Watch all lectures first. One hour at lunch and two to three hours after work. I never watched more than one section at a time and always gave myself a couple of months to study for each section.

After I was done with all of the videos for that section I would go to the Wiley Test bank and do a practice section consisting of one full test. This would be the only thing I would do after the videos were finished. Each day I would do another sample test filtering out the questions I already covered. Every time I would get a question wrong I would be sure to look at all of the answers and find out why I got it wrong as well as take notes on the correct answer. This is the only time I took notes. I find taking notes during videos is counterproductive because you either pause the video and this takes time or you take notes while the video is running and then miss out on material covered.

After I was done with all of the multiple choice questions I would continue to take the test this time not filtering any of the questions. Still continuing to take notes on what I got wrong. Periodically I would look through my notes and try to memorize all of the information I had missed and see if it makes sense. If it didn't make sense I wouldn't get discouraged because chances are you will still get a passing grade if you don't know it. So just continue to study and do the multiple choice. By the end of my studying for each section I would typically do close to 2000 multiple choice questions. This may seem like a lot but if you do 90 per day it adds up quickly.

I agree with obvus22 – only go to the text when necessary.

    Thank You Guys

I just started this week. After reading CH 9. I decided to watch the lecture and Part 9A Part 1 started off from the middle so it kind of threw away my tempo a lot. I'll try lecture and MCQ and see how comfortable I feel.

I think the reason I was confused at first, I thought the lecture will clear out whatever I was confused off during the reading. So I'll try it and thank you once again.
