So far I have sat for REG and BEC and failed both. I feel strongly that for both exams I had a good handle on a majority of the concepts, but was unable to adequately answer all/ comprehend all of the questions because I was constantly running out of time.
When I sat for REG I spent too much time on the MC and only left myself 45 minutes for the simulations, which was not nearly enough time. So for BEC, I tried my best to better manage my time, and not to get hung up obsessing about specific questions. I even skipped a few problems that were particularly long and complex that I probably could have solved, just to keep a steady pace (after failing by 3 points, I’m still kind of kicking myself).
I’ve always struggled with time management for exams through high school and college, but the time constraints of the CPA exam are a whole new ballpark. I am diagnosed ADHD, and I think my attention problems are a factor in the speed in which I am able to go through questions. Has anyone else struggled with this and learned techniques to help them increase their speed?
