I get a lot of exam day anxiety and there’s usually traffic to the test center that make me even more nervous or get there like an hour and a half before my exam.

This time I’ve decided to do thing a bit different: to schedule the exam with the earliest block of time (7:00AM) to avoid traffic and minimize pre-exam jitters.

Have you ever taken an exam at 7am? If you do, what was your experience like? Am I going to expect a larger group of people?

I’m taking AUD tomorrow so I’m trying to anticipate as much as I can. TIA!

    FAR - 70, 81
    AUD - 74 "so that's what it feels like." Round 2: 79

Passing the exam is not impossible task. GIVING UP is the only way YOU can make it impossible!

Hi TDKR, I almost always take the earliest time slot. It really depends for number of people there.

If I get there the 30 min early. I usually get seated within 10 min, start the test and am done early.

If I am later, it can depend, but almost always I have been seated prior to the start time. it seems

to be less congested and people get seated quickly, as there are not the breaks and people done

with there testing to deal with also. I am more of a morning person, so that is helpful for me 🙂

Relax and go pass the exam! You can do this

The earliest my center has is 8am. And I've always taken my exam at that time. I've also always been seated and starting my test by 7:45am.

My prometric opens at 8am. The one time I took that slot, there were already 14 people sitting in the hallway when I arrived at 7:15. I didn't get seated until 8:45. My prometric only had 2 people there, and there were several new processes at the time including metal detector wands which they weren't very good with yet. I guess it depends on the location and the staff.

I've always scheduled the earliest exam (8AM for me). I usually get there at 7:30 and was always seated before 8.

I usually take my exam mid-week in the middle of they day. The staff there said that's usually the non-busy time. It certainly feel crowded this morning as I was seated after my exam time. There are more candidates coming in and out as well.

I took two exams at 12:00 and three at 8:00. I didn't really notice a difference in how I felt or performed.

I started taking my exams in Peoria, IL which is a two hour drive because the testing center in my hometown is so strict! You can't even say hello to someone in the wait room. Seriously! I'm already stressed enough when I show up… I don't need any help. I get a free hotel at the River Boat, have a nice dinner and play at the casino for an hour or two. The drive, dinner and a bit of fun time relax my brain. Then I do a late night cram session in the hotel with minimal distractions. I wake up at 8 for another cram session and hit prometric for the noon spot. For my FAR exam I could only get an 8:00 am spot so I won't be playing as much the night before. It works for me! 🙂

@BaxterCPA, that sucks about your local prometric! I've never heard of one so strict, or encountered anything like that.

Your chillout casino night plan sounds much better!

nbad311: I'm not exaggerating. I was walking down the hall TO the testing center with my husband who is a professor at the University where the exam center is located (I work at the University also) and the monitor met us in the hall, asked if we were both testing…I said “Just me.” and she said “Well THIS is where we say goodbye.” … like we were 12 year old school kids. If you talk in the waiting room they say “THIS is a no talking zone.” They have to WATCH you power down your cell phone and watch you put it in your locker and hand them the key. I could go on and on. I've seen them make testers turn their Tshirt or hoodie inside out because it had something on the front. It's ca-razy!! I wonder if they would even let us wear the Ninja Tshirt or make us turn it inside out.
