Hey guys, first time poster here. All comments are welcome. I took my first exam, REG, October 12th and passed with a 77. I studied about 3 weeks and used the Becker book and Wiley MCQ and sims. Thinking I was a rock star passing my first cpa test on the first try I decided to take BEC on November 4th and heck, I m invincible, not do any mcqs and just study the Becker book exclusively (No CD, lectures or supplement material of any kind). Well ended up with a 68. I deserved that one. Decided to try to pass AUD while I waiting for my BEC score. I studied about the same for AUD as I did REG, but used Ninja MCQ and read the Becker AUD book, which I took the exam Nov 28th. Sadly, last night was a heart breaker, 73…

I just wanted to share my experience even though I am indifferent with this quarters results. I know people have posted asking if 2 tests in one window is doable. I think it is very doable, but you have to realize what you are capable of, how quickly you can retain knowledge, if the test is not your strong suit or is, hours and time dedicated to the process as a whole based on your own assessment of the material, etc.

In closing, I would like anyone to share feedback they may have that would help benefit me preparing for my retakes. What was your strategy? What worked best for you?

    Thank you in advance!

    REG - 10/12/2015 77
    AUD - 01/06/2016 75
    BEC - 01/16/2016 75
    FAR - 02/27/2016 68 Retake 05/13/16 70 Retake TBD

Do what you did for REG lol. Honestly, your scores are impressive for someone who didn't study. Just imagine if you really did put forth the effort? I would start with AUD since you were closer to passing that one. I would listen to the lectures and do the accompanying questions and take notes and move on to chapter two. Do that until you have completed all the chapters. Go back and skim the book and your notes and start with the ninja mcq. Complete as much as you can until exam day. Also, don't forget to study the SIMS.
EDIT: do not throw your hard earned money away on these exams and take it seriously. Study your butt off and pass as quickly as possible so you can move on to having a real life 🙂

I am attempting the same this next window. I failed FAR in November with a 74 (studied about 60 hours over 3-4 weeks). Just found out I passed Audit with a 75 (15 days of study, about 29 hours of study). I am studying now and plan to retake it Jan 9th. I then plan to take REG at the end of Jan or 1st week of Feb and BEC at the end of Feb. I am crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. I want to be DONE by the end of window 2 and this will give me a chance to retake any I fail. I know it may not be the best way to do things, but I think it can be done. We don't get too busy at work (tax senior) until mid-late Feb. And that's small firm busy 50 hours max not Big 4 80+ busy.

Best of Luck with your retakes!

    FAR -- 11/9/15 74 OUCH --Retake Jan 9,2016
    AUD - 11/30/15 75
    REG - Jan 2016
    BEC - Feb 2016

I think taking more than two exams in one window requires:

    1. No job
    2. Familiarity with the subject matter
    And/or
    3. Prep work before the window (which is what i did)

I think people who work full time and don't have any familiarity with the material and cram 3-4 in a window are few and far between. I am also taking 13 units at a CC, so if that wasn't a factor I may have gotten away without prior studying…

But no matter what, you can't get lax/lazy and expect things to go well.

    BEC - 10/05/15 - 83
    FAR - 11/09/15 - 79
    AUD - 11/30/15 - 84
    REG - 02/14/16 - 82

I'm going to try 3 tests in the Jan-Feb window. Only difference, two of the tests I have already taken and failed with a 73 on each. I plan on taking BEC in the beginning of January for the first time, then going to knock out Reg and Far over the rest of January and February. I feel like I can get it done since I am already familiar with Reg and Far, just need a few weeks each to re-acquaint myself with the topics and brush up on the weaker points and hopefully I'll be good.

    FAR 80
    AUD 80
    REG 88
    BEC 80
    Ethics 95

More power to you guys! I took three in the last testing window. Ironically enough I passed the two I only gave myself a few weeks for, and I failed the one that I studied for 2.5 months before the window. It can be done! (But apparently not by me.) 😉

    FAR | 81 - July 21 15
    REG | 66 - Oct 1 15 | 87 - Jan 7 16
    AUD | 90 - Oct 29 15
    BEC | 86 - Nov 25 15

Thanks for your responses. I have a full time job as a tax analyst for a tax software company so right now its very busy. Not the best timing, but I was motivated and will continue to be! Good luck to everyone!

You can take 3 or 4 exams in one window provided you already studied all of them. I was planning of doing that, taking all the exams in one window but I have decided to put quality time in review. Also, working full time with part time won't allow me to do it. 2 exams per window should be good as long as you stay focus and discipline.

1 test for each testing window was how I did it. Didn't need to rush, never failed a test. Slow and steady won me the race.

68 on BEC and 73 on AUD isn't too bad on just minimal studying. You'll pass both in Q1'16.
