I see all of the different study methods and most include note writing. I haven’t written anything down, except to do calculations. It just doesn’t do anything for me. Really all I have done is MCQ’s till I am blue in the face. With audit I read the standards. It’s just funny how different things work for different people. I can’t imagine waking up early to study. Maybe I am a slacker exam taker, lol.

Really, all I was saying is that when you read other people's study habits, you begin to doubt your own habits, even if they work for you.

I tried typing the notes from one of the becker sections for auditing, thinking I'd be able to summarize the information, but it ended up being a verbatim copy. I'm starting to doubt whether or not I should spend the 5 or 6 hours listening to the lectures..at this point I think I will read for myself and refer to the lectures if something doesn't make sense

I haven't listened to any lectures. For audit, the standards were cut and dry, so that really helped.

Good to hear. It definitely seems like 2 hours of reading (and actually thinking about the material) is more effective than getting lectured on it. I never grasped material in college until after I went through the notes myself and worked problems.

I haven't written down any notes, practice sims, or watched lectures, it doesn't work for me. Some people don't even bother reading the text while that is a vital part for my learning. I have to see it applied before I work MCQs with it.

    Everyone is different.

It just makes way more sense to read the material for yourself. Otherwise, I'm spending 5 hours per chapter simply trying to highlight and write random side notes that don't end up helping. So then I have to go back and spend an additional 3 hours reading for myself…not efficient.
