My plan is to start studying for the exam on December 10. I want to be done with the exam by May 31. Looking at doing AUD, REG, FAR, BEC. 2 tests per window. Can anyone who has tried a similar strategy please let me know how it worked out. Further, I will be finishing up my MAcc, so I will have 12 hours of class commitments. Thanks you in advance and I look forward to hanging around these parts for a while!

From what I've read and experienced, FAR and AUD go well together, so I would take FAR, then AUD, then REG and BEC. I would not recommend taking FAR and REG back to back if you can avoid it.

Also, 2 parts per window is somewhat aggressive. Are you also working or just in school?

    Good luck!

    PS Running rocks!

    BEC 81
    AUD 76
    FAR 70, 76
    REG 58, 78! DONE!

I took FAR 5/5/12 and AUD 5/30/12. Next testing window, I took REG 7/12/12. I would have been able to take BEC before the end August since I've finished the lecture, but I was offered to start work earlier than my original date of October. I decided to focus on the 9/17 extension deadline instead since I JUST started and make a favorable impression. I'll be taking BEC this Friday, and I've been ready to kick its a** since August.

Couple of takeaways. It is definitely doable. I started studying FAR February 2012 while finishing up the MTax program. I graduated, took the test the next day, and just said, what the hell, I'll rush and try to get AUD before the window closes. Since I had no income at the time, I couldn't drive anywhere, so I was at home all day everyday for 3 months just studying away. I think I developed cabin fever during that time.

So basically, how much time can you really commit to studying to make this happen. I went through all the Becker MCQs at least 2 times for each section, wrote Ninja Notes, and used Becker Final Review for the week before exam.

Good luck with the MAcc program and the CPA test. It sounds like you're a real go-getter so you'll kill it for sure.

If you have that level of commitment, then go for it. These next 6 months are going to be tough for you, though.

    BEC - 90 PASSED
    FAR - 84 PASSED
    AUD - 93 PASSED
    REG - 84 PASSED

Thanks for all the replies. I have changed my course of action a little bit. Starting with FAR and then AUD in the first window. Followed by REG then BEC in the second window of 2013. I have been playing around with the Becker software, and can manage to do 2 lectures per week and still get it done by May 2013.

@abacus I don't think I could pass the exam without running to keep my sanity 🙂

@computer blue Thanks for sharing your course of study! Now I think this is doable.

I would do FAR/AUD/BEC/REG. the first three lead into each other in some aspects. REG is the awkward child that doesn't have much relation to the others. It's doable, I do lecture one day then next day read the notes from the lecture and work MC, usually get through 2-3/week. You can do it! Exercise is a great way to get your mind off the exams too, my heavy ass doesn't like to run but I don't mind picking up some heavy ass weights instead…and of course putting them back down. Haha. Good luck, you'll do great as long as you keep dedicated. My personal opinion about the exams is that they aren't extremely difficult, it's just a matter of how much are you willing to give up to pass! Keep calm and carry on!

    FAR- 8/14/12 91
    AUD- 10/16/12 88
    BEC- 11/07/12 92
    REG- 01/05/13 86
