18 months passes by way too fast

This is sad. After receiving my first passing score, I remember thinking to myself “18 months is plenty of time.” With BEC expiring in less than 2 weeks, I clearly underestimated this timeframe.

Damn this sucks lol. I don’t want to be a part of the “candidates whose sections have expired” club. I’m studying as much as possible, trying to be optimistic, but there’s that stupid reminder in my head that this is my final attempt. Just adds to the existing pressure. The thought of having to take BEC again sickens me. I’m probably going to be analyzing every word on the test as if my life depended on it.

Anyway, break’s over. I’m done venting.

    BEC - 67, 79 - (expires 5/24)
    REG - 74, 72, 77 - Key to Passing: RTFQ
FAR - 77 - Chance favors the prepared mind.
    AUD - 64, (5/14) - FREEDOM!! (i hope)

Just out of curiosity, what review materials have you been using to study?

Becker and Ninja. Although for this upcoming test, I purchased the Wiley Test Bank and the CPAReviewForFree questions.

Well then, you're in great hands. I know people say do MC and it sounds like a cliche but I really can't stress the importance of that enough. Keep doing progress tests with Becker. Chances are, you're going to have several questions on your exam that are word for word from Becker. Also, when you get a question wrong, UNDERSTAND why you got it wrong.

4 hours is going to be more than enough time for this exam. Take your time and think clearly. Like I said, you're in good hands with that review material so you just need to remember what you study. If you have any specific questions, let me know. You'll be fine! Good luck!

Thanks dude, appreciate it. I went through all the Becker questions twice, the Wiley test bank, and the CPAReviewForFree questions. Currently rereading/rewriting some notes. Then going to do some progress tests.

Yeah, 18 months is not that long, especially if you have to take certain parts multiple times. I was lucky enough to pass my first two parts (FAR and AUD) in one window, so I only had 2 parts to worry about for the remaining 18 months. I was also lucky enough to pass BEC in one shot, so that gave me plenty of time to tackle REG multiple times before finally passing it.

Thanks for the support! I have a few hours to spare before the test, so I'm just skimming through my notes and trying not to panic lol. I hope I'll be joining the alumni in a couple of weeks.

18 month is more than enough time if you are focused. What happened? Did you take a break/ skip windows or something?

I'm in the same boat. Took FAR 18 months ago and figured that I would have plenty of time to pass the remaining sections. After working for the past two years I finally realize why everyone encourages you to pass the CPA before starting a job in public accounting. Now I'm in a situation where I am going to be forced to take FAR again.

Hang in there, if you passed it once you can pass it again.

    FAR - 77 (Expired) Retake - 81
    AUD - 92 (Expired)
    BEC - 80
    REG -

Good luck. Retaking BEC isn't so bad. Retaking FAR would be another story.

    Aud 7/11/11 75
    Reg 8/31/11 80
    Far 5/24/11 86
    Ethics - 98

@Herbie: I agree. 18 months is enough time if you're focused. But sh** happens along the way. I dedicated one window for a test and failed (that sucked! waste of a window). And then I took a break during another window due to 2 deaths in the family. Before you know it, the expiration date just creeps up on you.

@sbundy: hopefully we both get good news in a week!

@JD: damn dude, sorry to hear that… sucks having to take FAR again
