Which Exam?

    Hey guys,

So far I’ve passed FAR and AUD. Since tax season’s coming up, my initial plan was to take REG next. However, it seems that a lot of people are saying that REG is super hard. Now, I’m conflicted as to whether to take BEC or REG next. My plan so far is to take one at the end of 4Q and the next one at the end of 1Q.

Please let me know your suggestions. Any input or opinion is appreciated, thanks!

As you seem to work primarily in the Tax field, I would say you can do REG next as it might not be as hard for you compared to BEC. On average most people I see on here have a better time studying for Audit or Reg depending on which field they have experience in. Don't underestimate BEC, it might have the slightly higher passing rate but its still its own monster.

If you work in tax REG wont be that bad.

Good luck taking one at the end of Q1, I could never find the time to effectively study during tax season. If your plan it to only take one of them next quarter, I'd shoot for REG as it seems to need more prep time.

    AUD - 92
    BEC - 79
    REG - August
    FAR - TBD

If you work in tax take Regulation! I work in tax as well and the exam was challenging but definitely not as bad with the tax background. I have had a lot of trouble with BEC for some reason though. Plus the REG material is relevant to your job and might help out with the upcoming tax season.

I guess it's unanimous, REG it is!

Now I'm actually thinking REG near early January and BEC end of April but we'll see. I know it's a pretty tight schedule but if anything, I can always reschedule.
