I am starting my MAcc in September, and will be working full time as well.

I was wondering when should I start studying for my CPA? The program will take roughly 2 years approximately. Also when should I take the actual exam?

Okay that makes sense. I'm in FL – won't be done with my Masters for at Least 2 years. Would that be alright? Like would it matter how long it takes me after I pass all four parts? I know you have to pass each part within an 18 month span.

are you saying you don't have enough credits to get licensed at the moment but plan to get them through your master's program? you need to check with your board, but seems like in FL scores would be valid for three years since the date NASBA releases the score for the last exam https://www.myfloridalicense.com/dbpr/cpa/faq-exam.html

    AUD - passed
    REG - passed
    BEC - passed
    FAR - passed

I am from texas, and wanted to take the cpa before 150 hours, could I take parts in another state and then transfer to texas?

hey sorry for a late response – yes, you can typically take exams elsewhere and then transfer. That's exactly what I did. You typically have to pay a small fee and fill out a couple forms but that's about it. Again, best to check with the texas board to be sure

    REG - passed
    BEC - passed
    FAR - passed

I would start now and have them all done by the time you are out of school.

I did MACC, worked full time, and studied for the exam all at the same time. I can't imagine going to school full time for 2 years and THEN taking the test. That's going to be close to three years of your life out the door. Do you really want to put your life on hold for that long? Just get it over with.

    4 for 4

    FAR 85
    AUD 94
    BEC 86
    REG 90
