llewis13ParticipantDue to the delayed score release for Q2 exams, is anyone else skipping the period altogether? 3 months is a long time to wait to find out if I passed or not.

ShutUpParticipantHonestly that might make sense for people who havent started an exam. Why start your 18 months with a 3 month disadvantage.

Meg267ParticipantI'm sitting for AUD on 3/10. I just started MCQ this week, and I'm not feeling too good about it. If I don't pass, I'm hoping to sit in April. Then I would just have FAR left. I'm hoping to sit for FAR in July. That should give me enough time to get through all the material. Score release in August. If I don't pass FAR in July, then I'll sit for it again in October. After that, I'm hoping I'll be done. It drags this process out longer, but I think it will be okay. I just am hoping for really great news come the score release in August because I've got a week long cruise starting the day of the score release!

VDPParticipantI decided that instead of trying to cram FAR in Q2 (after taking REG in March), I'm going to wait and take it early in Q3. I plan on using the extra time to make sure I really understand the concepts and I won't have to wait as long for my score. I haven't passed any tests yet so my 18-month clock hasn't started. I figure I'll use that to my advantage.

AyodeleParticipantI dont think thats a good idea if you have passed a section. Letting a whole window go only leaves you less time to pass the other sections. I am in a situation where I have to take FAR before my Aud expires in April. IF I pass FAR Im done. AS a result I wont study for at least 3 months which is around the time I get my score back. If you have multiple test left I would just take multiple in the window.

LonelyRonPaulParticipant@ShutUpStupidGetBacktoTeachin remember though, the 18 month timer that starts on each section after you pass doesn't start ticking until scores are released. So if you took an exam in April and passed it but didn't get your score until August, the 18 month timer won't start until you receive the score in August. I say continue forward as normal and take the exams as you had originally them scheduled and wait for score release in August or so.

LonelyRonPaulParticipant@mecrushya looking on CPA Central for all of my scores, the expiration date they show for each of my scores is exactly 18 months for each one.

AParticipantI mis-spoke about the testing window, but CO must be a little different because my expiration dates are all the last day of the last month, regardless of when I took my exams.
For example, I took
AUD on 4/18/16, and it expires 10/31/17. That's about 13 bonus days beyond 18 months.B - 77 (2.27.16)

smoothiezguyParticipantDon't skip Q2 just because of the late score release… FYI, testing in Q3 won't get you your score any faster than Q2, in fact, Q3 scores won't be released until September 22 (or 23, can't remember which off the top of my head), a month after Q2 releases.

SaveBanditParticipant@lonelyronpaul and others:
The NASBA CPA Central expiration dates don't necessarily line up with the requirements of your state board. I was reading on here at some point about a candidate who used the CPA central scores to gauge their 18 month window, and their last test had actually expired when they went to apply for their license even though the NASBA site showed they were within their 18 month period. Check the requirements from your state board. I know that in my case the CPA central dates showed my tests expiring from when the score was received, but in my state the scores actually expire from when you sit. So they were like a month or two off.

ruggercpa2bParticipantSaveBandit is correct. It depends on your state. I know for TN your 18 month window begins on the date the first examination section passed was taken.
I would suggest you check your state and what the requirements are because the last thing you want is to assume when your scores expire and end up losing credit.

ShutUpParticipant@Lonelyronpaul i was under the impression that the timer starts on the day you took your first passing exam… either way it doesnt matter for us. I just would hate to see someone lose a bunch of time because they happened to pass there 1st test in q2, and say struggle with their last one and basically lose a whole window due to a late score release.
