I wanted to say my last words to the fellow 71ers.
I recently found out my last exam score that I passed and completely finished with all 4 parts of the CPA exams.
My CPA journey started from December 2016. I knew someone who took all 4 parts in one window while working in big 4. It motivated me just enough to try that as well. So, I decided to finish all 4 parts in 2017 Q1, especially becuase I did not want to deal with all the exam changes. I started studying for FAR in December 2016, took the exam on 1/9/2017. I studied for BEC for 3 weeks, AUD for 12 days, and REG for 1 month. I took all the exams in first Q of 2017, passed FAR, BEC and AUD, failed REG with 71.
Although, I didn’t accomplish my initial goal, I still felt pretty accomplished passing 3 in 2 months. I took REG again on April after studying for another month and found out that I passed just a few days ago. There goes my 4 months of CPA exam journey.
Although, I wasn’t heavily active in the forum, I wanted to say farewell to those who are still battling and any 71ers who passed, but still active just because you like the forum. I will be back from time to time though.
In case someone wants me to share my study strategy and materials, I can also share.
I used Roger and only Roger, nothing else. My study strategy was to review all the Roger lectures while taking thorough notes. I barely practiced MCQs and did not practice any simulations (probably 300mcq for FAR, 80~100 mcq for BEC and AUD, 10 mcq for REG in total). My approach was that if I know and understand the material, I should have no problem solving the mcq/sims. It worked for 3 parts of the exam. I passed FAR, BEC and AUD with this approach. It did not work for REG.
REG was different. There were little details that arent covered in lectures and there was no way I could learn those little details just with the lectures. After failing REG once, I spent the last week just doing MCQs, but again not Sims. I practiced about 200mcq in the last week.
After a long wait (4 months), I found out that I passed REG with 81. I am just grateful and glad that I won’t have to spend another minute of my life studying for CPA exam. I hope that everyone here feels the same way after taking your exams soon.
Thank you all for sharing your experiences and information in the forum. It truly helped. And again, I wish you the best of luck!
Farewell,
