In the fourth quarter, I believe we will start receiving scores about one week after taking a part for the CPA exam. All this time, there has been a lot of speculation on the AICPA “curving” the exam, or even fixing the pass rate (which is why it supposedly takes so long for AICPA to release our scores). How do you think receiving our exam scores earlier will affect scores? (I guess this question goes out to the believers of the “curve”).

Wow! I am not really sure what to think of this one…I have never really thought they curved the tests any more than by ranking each question based on its history and applying a score to that. I think that they make the tests very difficult, which in turn keeps the passing rates under 50%.

As for getting my score sooner, I would love that! The wait for my first two scores was terrible! I hope to have this thing done before the 4th window though, but who the heck knows?!
