I have FAR scheduled for 8/29 at 8 AM, the only time that was left during that week. I was curiously looking on the Prometric site this morning and saw that the 12:30 slot was open. I have taken AUD twice at 8 AM and haven’t fared well. The test site is only 10 minutes from my house, so travel isn’t a big deal, but I am really not a morning person. I have already pushed this back once and my wife wouldn’t be thrilled if I spent another $35 on this.

Has anyone ever asked Prometric to waive a fee? I have already given them $35 to move this test to the day, all I am really doing is changing the time?

I think its much more about removing a mental block than the actual 5 hours. My wife is squarely in the “nut up and get it done” camp. The issue isn't the $35, its the fact that I still have doubts that I can pass the exam. It really doesn't matter, the issue has never what time or what day, its been about me putting in the work to pass.

All that being said, I would love to have the extra time, just for a security blanket. I don't thing it is the difference betweem passing and failing.

The mental marathon is just as much a part of this whole process as the knowledge, skill and understanding is. don't second guess yourself. You CAN do this if you really want it bad enough.

I've rescheduled a few of my exams because things came up or I had slacked a little and I'm really glad I gave myself that extra time. I needed it to help me get my head back in the game and ended up passing! I think that if you feel you need to move the exam to have a better chance of performing well, then $35 should not even be a factor…

    Best of luck to you!

    @ jp

I'm in the opposite situation…I've taken and passed each of my sections with a 9 AM appointment. Now I've got FAR coming up with a 12 PM appointment, and I wonder if it will help me or hurt me. Personally, I prefer the earlier appointments…I want to get in there first thing in the AM while my mind is still fresh. I'll study up the night before, get a good night of sleep and get in there and get after it. However you decide best of luck to you!!

    @ everyone else

The REALLY cheap accountant's movie night…$1 RedBox movie, $2 bag of Gummy Bears 😀

Duker, that or streaming movie on netflix (and grrrr on them raising their rates! NOT cool!) and popcorn from the microwave

(but not microwave popcorn, did you know if you put a fistful of kernels in a regular brown lunchbag, roll down the top twice and throw it in for 3 minutes, you have fast air popped popcorn? LOVE that trick, cheaper and healthier without all the preservatives and sodium)

Just do it. Pick up some flowers for the wife on the drive home and make her dinner — that way she won't care about the 35$ and you won't care so much about freaking out about did I/didn't I pass.

You'll be fine, just don't stress out.

    BEC -- Pass
    AUD -- Pass

I really wish I could take mine early, but I have a 2.5 hour drive before my exam and I don't want to have to get up CRAZY early… so… 12:30 it is. An exam day lasts so long for me! My fiance joked around that I get a 4 day work week this week (since my exam is on Friday), but my exam days are much longer than a normal work day.

    9:00am: Leave home

    11:30am: Arrive at testing center

11:30 – 12:00: Sit in my car and review for half an hour

    12:00pm: Enter testing center

    12:30pm: Start test

    3:30pm: Leave testing center

3:30 – 4:30: Refill on gas, eat a quick dinner

4:30: Leave Sacramento, spend the entire drive thinking about the exam and all the questions that I felt confused on

7:00pm: Get home, possibly have a few glasses of wine, maybe cry a bit if it was really bad.. lol

Long friggin day!!! By the time I even get to the testing center, I'm already exhausted and my eyes burn from driving in the blaring Northern California sun. Luckily the adrenaline kicks in and I am usually not thinking about how tired I am until I'm about 75% through the exam.

Ok I'm done whining. 🙂 Sorry I just really hate this drive and I am not looking forward to it.

The time was gone before I had a chance to take it. My office blocks any site where a credit card has to be entered and it was gone when I got home that night.
