    The best place for me is Panera. I’m not sure why but I seem to concentrate better there. I really wish I could study at home. My bank account is not liking me eating out all the time.

    Towards the end I would go to Caribou Coffee to study. The only problem there is that it is always SO cold! 95 degrees outside and I'd be sitting there in a fleece coat. I did find that it helped if I had ear plugs in though.

    I found that when I tried to study at home, I was too concentrated on the laundry that needed to be done, the dishes that needed to be done, family, etc.

    At home, but I move around between the office, dining room, and living room. Back when I was in school, I studied better with background noise, so I would go to bookstores and coffee shops. But when studying for this exam, I need silence.

    I prefer going to the library. My library has study rooms that you can reserve. I prefer to refer to them as “swanky” study rooms. They have ceiling to floor windows, beautiful wooded area to have as background, and can accommodate probably 8 people, and since the library is fairly new all the furniture is fairly new and upholstered! READ: cushy chairs that are very comfortable with attached little desktops! I usually push two together so I can use one as a foot stool. Bonus: I can drink and eat in there.

    If I could only bring some Sierra Nevada's–but I guess that is counterintuitive. I will save that for after the exam is over.

    Otherwise I am like T-rex , I would study at home.

    I guess to each their own, but I never understand people who go to places like Starbucks to work/study. I mean, I know everyone is different, but I don't ever see how that could be a productive place to study. My friends and I call it a place for other people to watch you work :). For me, it was the library, but I'm so ADD that I couldn't be in a room with big swanky windows or I would just start people watching. My university's library had “dungeon rooms” (tiny little study rooms in the library's basement with one door, no windows, and a desk) where I could sit and study for hours. Also, since the university was wi-fi equipped, I could fire up a little pandora while working MCQ's. Ahh, that was my study bliss.

    @baseballcpa,

    Well with the likes of Peter Olinto and Tim Gearty to study with, heck, I am too distracted to look out the window!!! JK.

    Actually, I can see what you are saying. For me, it is like a zen like calming feeling to see “the outside” because it always seems like I am always “inside”. Inside my library studying, inside my house studying….you get the pic. I am sure I have a vitamin d deficiency since I have barely been out in the sun.

    But hopefully all of that will end soon! Congrats on finishing this process. BTW nice score on BEC!!!

    I agree with Baseball. No cafe' studying for me, it's too distracting. I need the dungeon type atmosphere as well. Silent is key for me.

    Haha thanks! I'm so glad to be done, but don't worry, you'll be done soon too!! Yeah, if I study at home, the tv/xbox/ps3 goes on and the concept of studying goes right out the window!

    @BaseballCPA

    I'm currently at starbucks studying.

    I move around. Spend 3-4 hours at the library then hit the gym, eat dinner then head to starbucks.

    (Only during final review) hahah

    @B-ball,

    Is FAR really as scary as everyone makes it out to be?

    I feel like I'm about to have a panic attack!

    T-Rex I thought REG was harder… The questions from REG are from space. The questions from FAR you will find that Becker prepared you will. But hey take my advice with a grain of salt, I failed REG and 100% sure I didn't pass FAR!

    I really didn't think it was too bad…I thought REG was way harder! But then again, financial has always been my strong area and tax has always been one of my weaker areas.

    Don't have a panic attack…I think people blow it out of proportion. That being said, content-wise: I think it's fairly easy, however, the volume of information on FAR does make it a difficult test to conquer.

    If you give yourself plenty of time to adequately study all the topics and manage your time well on the exam, you'll ace it!

    Hate to give you the “you got this T-rex, you're smart and will pass” line that we all hate hearing, but I feel like looking at your other scores—you have a great shot. Becker prepares you well for FAR, probably better than any of the other sections. Its a ton of material, which is probably why its always been considered the most difficult.

    As for where I study—always at home, I have a small loft in my apartment which I once called the mancave(the wife hardly comes up here). While sometimes tough to study with the ps3 a few feet away and a mini fridge full of beer a few yards away—I've managed to do all of my studying here in the studycave. Oh and for every exam I study for about an hour or 2 in the prometric parking lot!

    Thank you, Baked, for the vote of confidence! I've heard that Becker prepares folks well for FAR a few times now, so I'll have to keep that in mind when I start going into panic mode.
