When you fail

Since scores are coming out figured I would put in my two cents from when I failed FAR.

When I failed FAR, I decided I wanted to study during the black out month and take it the first few days in the next month.

I used becker and wiley questions to prep for my first FAR test. When i decided to get back into studying at first I was going through the becker book, taking notes and doing a few questions. I was getting uninterested very quickly and eventually was getting angry I had to study all this again. I was going over the material quickly thinking, “I know this I don’t need to study or do practice questions.” I realized something needed to change.

So I cleared everything I had previously done on the becker material. I cleared all the lectures I watched and the questions I did. I was now looking at all the blue titles without being crossed out and I actually felt much better. I began all over by watching the lectures and going through the questions and it really helped me get interested again because I now had a goal; to finish watching the lectures and answering the questions. Since I had something to strive for it made studying the material a bit less angering.

@jamesjohnson11 I'm glad you posted this. I did something very similar, after I had learned the hard way :/ I had failed REG in January. When I went to restudy I did not “reset stat” or any of that.. I simply just did a bunch of progress tests, went through flash cards, and did some of the sections of MCQ over again. I said the same thing as you “oh I know this and that.” I ended up failing REG again, not only did I fail, I scored only ONE point higher than my previous experience with REG.

When I went to restudy for REG take x3, I hit the “reset stat” in Becker, so all MCQs sections and lectures when to 0% complete. I completely started over, with lectures, MCQ, and I also purchased Wiley. You're right it really does make you feel like you have goals this way. I am hoping this is what needed to happen to finally dominate this beast!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

Glad someone out there can relate. After three weeks of my lame attempts of studying I realized something had to change. I was getting angry I wasn't interested in studying and knew if I kept it up I was absolutely going to fail. I hope more people realize to do this because it is definitely the way to go.
