When to schedule BEC?

Now that I got my AUD & REG scores, I only have BEC left. I currently have it scheduled for 7/27 but I’m wondering if I should push it out to the end of August instead. It’s not like I’m going to know my scores any sooner by taking it sooner… And, July is our quarter end and a little hectic, my mother-in-law is going to be at my house for 9 days in July helping do some remodeling, etc. I had planned for the end of July, figuring that if I didn’t pass either AUD or REG, I could retake them at the end of August, but now that isn’t a consideration. The other thing I’m thinking is that if I take it the end of August and I fail it, it will have been less time since I took it so the info should still be fairly fresh and restudying should be fairly painless. So, WWYD?

I think August end is a great idea given your busy schedule in July and also that you have to wait a lot less for the scores! And well, you also get more time to study and make sure you're done with the process once and for all 🙂

    Good Luck! 🙂

I would absolutely move it back, as long as failing it doesn't bring any of your other exams in danger of passing 18 months then I think this is a no-brainer. It'll give you that much more time to study, just make sure you budget that time well and don't waste it and the knowledge you've picked up so far. I moved back my AUD test just a week but that extra week was a huge help. And I think you're right too, that way if you do happen to fail you'll have less time before you can take it again. But don't just listen to me, see what others have to say too.

@ 419BOB – I passed FAR in Nov '10, so I *should* have plenty of time to retake BEC if I happen to fail it in Q3. The only additional challenge is that I'm due with baby #2 in mid-October, so we'll have to see how realistic it will be to retest right away if I find out a fail BEC.

I'm thinking that if I push it back, I will keep up with my same review schedule, I'll just re-do areas that I know I need further review. I'm about 1/2 done with the lectures, but have things I know I need to study a lot more.

If it's not too much trouble, take it now. Who cares when you get the score. The sooner you take the sooner you can get back to your life. You will have all that free time until you get your score.

    Aud 4/2/11 - 86
    Far 5/27/11 - 83
    Bec 7/1/11 - 82
    Reg 8/13/11 - 86! It's over!!!!
