So finally I get my results for AUD and BEC and its disappointing. I was really hoping to pass AUD, especially the time and effort I put in it. The MCQs were a breeze, simulations a little challenging and I missed the pass mark by a couple of points. BEC was tough and I knew I wouldn’t do well. Missed the pass mark by a point.

I have FAR classes start mid July and REG in October. I was planning to take FAR end of August. Now that I am back to square one, I really need your advice on what to tackle first. Should I take atleast AUD or BEC before tackling FAR? I can then push FAR to October before I start my REG classes.

Mann, hats off to those who successfully pass this exam.

Any advice would be really appreciated.

If you're taking classes that are on a set schedule and only offered at certain times, I would let that dictate which sections you take. Don't double back for AUD or BEC if those classes dont start for a while. If FAR starts in July, and thats the soonest availalble class (say for example AUD starts in august), then just take FAR and come back around for AUD later in the year. Personally, I don't let failing a section disrupt my testing schedule for other sections. If I did that, I might get stuck on the same section forever, and that would be really frustrating for me. I like taking the break to sit for other sections, then coming back around to the one I failed with a renewed motivation and a new perspective.

There isn't a HUGE amount of overlap on these exams, but there is some. I remember picking up things in BEC that cleared up some things in FAR and REG. (This is using Becker back in fall '09.) My point: I highly recommend cycling through all four tests at least once before retaking any.

REG: 76 (would have lost credit 5/31)
    AUD: 71, 78
    BEC: 74, 81
    FAR: 74, 61, 66, 69, 75 DONE

Thanks guys. Your responses were really helpful. I think it would be a good idea to start my FAR classes and take FAR sometime end of August and maybe AUD or BEC begining of October before starting my REG classes (October 15th).

Also, I know this depends from person to person but here is my schedule for FAR classes:

    Start classes: July 16th

    End classes: August 13th

Planning to schedule test: End of August.

    Is this too aggresive?

It depends on how many hours per day will you spend studying.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

Keep up with the classes, do the assigned homework and try hard to really understand the material for that week before the next class when they start covering a new topic. This will make your final review more effective during the last two weeks before you test, and help you finish in the timeline you have in mind.

This may sound weird, but at least you didn't pass the early one and have the clock ticking and then whiff on the second one…yes, you are at square one, but you seem to have a decent handle on the material if you almost passed them both…don't know how many times I've seen on here someone get a 72 and then their next score is an 88….I went form a 46 *blushes* to a 75 on audit

don't let it get you down too bad
