smrichardParticipantI passed! I checked the state website last night and it was down so I knew they were posting. Woke up at 4am this morning and checked, and it was up! The house was silent but I couldn't keep this fantastic news to myself. I woke up my husband to tell him the news and he was so excited for me, although he went right back to sleep. When my almost-3-year-old woke up I told her too and she didn't have the same enthusiasm. I bet if she could only comprehend how much this means to me and how hard I have worked, she would be jumping with joy. 🙂

I also got a 73 in REG, in WA, so we're in the same boat. I know how you feel about work… I work for a national tax firm and failed REG! It's sad really… I'm not sure about you, but when I saw that 73, I was more angry about how close I was. Honestly, a 60 wouldn't have hurt as much.
The big question is study time for a retake. How strong do you feel you know the material? Do you feel you'll have to start from scratch, or do a heavy review with tons of MCQs? Just want to get an idea of what others are doing!

My thought is that I know REG fairly well, like everybody the simulations killed me.
That morning I for some odd reason thought dividends between corps were non taxable.
I walked out the the exam and was like WTF was I thinking. That costed me the 2 points I bet.
I was planning on taking FAR the next test window. So my plan is to study starting this weekend till the 14th of Oct.
Then take REG. Take FAR Nov 28th because my NTS ends in December. I took a great BISK review course at gonzaga for FAR so I feel like I'm halfway there already.
Looking at your scores I would take REG first and AUD at the end of Novemeber. Just my thoughts.
I'm still waiting for BEC, that could seriously mess up my plan if I fail that one.

smrichardParticipantFedrizzi and bchaison – hang in there. If you ask around your firms, I'm sure most people will tell you honestly that they didn't pass each section on their first try.
This isn't my first time around for REG, I have failed each exam once. After I got over the initial pitty party, I made a new study plan and started from scratch. I went over EVERYTHING again. I have used Gleim up until now, I'm trying out Wiley for my (hopefully) last test. I just kept re-doing the study questions and taking extra time to re-read about my weak areas.
Bchaison, you should be more positive about your score. A 60 means you have quite a ways to go, but a 73 means you're ALMOST THERE!!! Disappointing as it is, if I had to have any failing score, I'd prefer the low 70's.

I hate the pity party, but I must admit that I'm as guilty as the next guy. However, it usually lasts only about 24 hours then i'm out of it (which is coming up here soon).
How about I'll give you BEC if you give me your AUD score?! That sounds fair!
Being so close hurts, but you're right, it could be worse. I think that's why doing a massive review for the next 3 weeks and taking REG in Mid-October. I took it at the end of August, so a lot of it is somewhat fresh.
Fedrizzi:
You read my mind! That's my exact plan… I just submitted my app for a new NTS today, so I'm planning on actually taking REG again the same day you are (ironic) and AUD at the end of November. Random question… dividends between corporations are taxable unless they are between subs and parents, right? Also, you get the dividend deduction based on ownership, right? I'm just trying to see if I'm on the same page 😀
